AGradStudentHasNoName Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I got Cornell Tri institutional program as well. But no Harvard :(. I guess my years of industry experience aren't being weighted that highly?

abc0111 Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 According to the Harvard BIG website, students are placed on a training grant for the first 2 years for stipend and tuition. Does this mean that for the rest of years in the program, students are expected to find financial support through fellowships / etc for stipend and tuition??

The professor usually supports you for the rest of the program, so there's no need to worry about money! Merry Christmas everyone! Epigenetics 1

Merry Christmas everyone! The lab you join is responsible for paying for you, but they'll want you to apply for NSF/NIH F31/other grants, since paying personnel and overhead is a major expense to a lab. Also having a fellowship is a big plus to getting into the lab you want.

Email: "We have had a large number of highly qualified applicants, nearly all of whom have extensive research experience and have had successful academic preparation. We typically make offers to about 10 - 12% of applicants." Edit: sorry i never sent them any email. Edited December 26, 2016 by systemicpoisoning

We now have 6 people from this thread going to Cornell Tri-I. It will be fun =P. You'll see me at UCSD as well.
SystemsBioYu Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 That is nice. I will visit UCSD 2.3. I am not familiar with these programs. Do your guys have ideas about the admission rate for the interviews? At least Cornell Tri-I seems invites a lot of people.
