How funny... I just got my new MacBook Air too and now that am accepted, was planning to go backpack / messenger bag shopping in the next week or two as well. Once I figure out where I'm going, I also plan to get my school sweatshirt and license plate frame, which will look great in the parking lot at my current job

Haha... that has been my home away from home at least 8 or 9 times per day Am I correct that Berkeley doesn't have a status checker? Anybody know otherwise? (Actually... for the sake of my suffering 8am-5pm productivity, maybe don't tell me if there indeed is one.)

I think UCLA could be tomorrow and if not, then very soon. I posted earlier to see if anyone had checked in more recently -- but a little over 2 weeks ago I heard that they were trying to wrap things up within a couple of weeks.

Yeah, I went through that this week. I've wanted to go to Madison since my undergrad and I think they're done too. Only for a few minutes though because I'm so incredibly thankful and appreciative to have received other offers.

The admitted student reception at UCD is March 6-8, not sure about UNC yet. I think you can probably assume anytime during the month of March is fair game.

Right... why would they expect you to decide so quickly on an unfunded offer when you may not have heard back from other schools yet...? And if it's unfunded, what's the urgency on their end when nearly every other program gives until 4/15?

So you don't even get to go see the department? This is a big decision to make and I would find it frustrating that they want final answers from their accepted students before other schools will even have their visitations.

Has anyone inquired about the timeline at UCLA? Or heard any rumors?

If you look up their results from last year, they had a couple acceptances in late January, then several on February 9, then a few more in the following days. I haven't heard anything from the department regarding visits or funding yet, just the letter from the graduate school informing me of my acceptance. If that means anything.
