Oh... in that case let's assume I have no idea what I'm talking about. And you wouldn't be the only one... I pretty much always have at least 3 gradcafe tabs open at all times on my home laptop, work computer, and phone. Including shortcuts on my phone's home screen to the results board and to the political science forum. I'm not really sure yet how I'm going to occupy every waking moment come April 15th. Maybe I'll need to get a life or something.

Good to see some positive energy flowing, considering the anxiety and edginess that most people on this site are experiencing. Making it this far is an accomplishment in itself. While staying optimistic is easier said than done, take comfort in knowing this process is nearing an end in the next month or so. We've all worked so hard for this and I hope you all get into your dream programs this year. Very well said. There is always another opportunity to make your application stronger and gain experience so that you can give it another shot. There will be a lot of devastated people who don't get any acceptances this year, but what will separate them is how they cope with the disappointment and their persistence in realizing their goals. (I'm pretty sure the comic sans is intentional )

To whoever mentioned a UCLA rejection on the results board - did they notify you of this officially? Just curious since I applied too but didn't hear anything yesterday when people were getting acceptance notifications.
-
Agreed. The ratio of applicants to the number of slots available is absurd so it would be unrealistic to expect you'll get into every place you've applied, no matter how strong your credentials are. Chicago is a fantastic program; big congratulations are in order to everyone who was accepted.

Madison's $11k is the lowest I've seen, but when you consider cost of living, it's probably not too much worse than what you might receive in the Bay area or Los Angeles.

There is a thread in the political science forum from last year where everyone listed the stipend packages that they were offered from their programs. According to those entering in Fall 2012, the stipend was $11k plus change before student fees:

Shoot. Apparently I need to be more judicious with my +1 green arrow points because I'm all out for the day.

It could very likely be any of the above-mentioned scenarios, so I wouldn't give up hope just yet. Anything could happen until that letter comes. That being said, one of my schools sent out several acceptances 8 days ago and I just received a rejection from them today. It's very difficult to predict what's going on.

Congrats to Minnesota! I wasn't expecting they'd be done yet. Was it a generic message, e-mail from professor, or ???
-
The first was an automated email alerting me to check ApplyYourself, where the decision letter was uploaded. But, I have since also received e-mails from the DGS and a professor that I mentioned in my SOP.

I officially hate travelzoo.

The UCLA sporadic e-mail process is not working for me.

Congrats!

Thanks! Let us know what you hear!

Bummer. Been waiting for the rejection e-mail from Wisconsin, but it still stings a bit. I'll be taking my Wisconsin sweatshirt to Goodwill this week.

Yeah, I'd definitely do this. Worst case you find out nothing, best case you get into Princeton.

I've heard this plenty. More often, however, on the rare occasion that I tell someone I applied to Harvard and Stanford, they usually kind of nod their head slowly and say "oh..." -- Except a few days ago, when a friend of mine blurted, without hesitation "you're not getting in there!" I think I made her feel pretty crappy about it when I gave her the "Yes, I know it's incredibly competitive but I also know that I'm smart enough to try" routine that I stole from someone on one of these threads. -
