  1. What a positive post. I saw this in the morning, just when my day was getting started and I was encouraged. AND so excited for you. Getting interviews is a significant accomplishment, and one from your dream school? Wowzer!. I've read posts on the results page where people were rejected and didn't even get an interview. I'm sure they will go well. Keep us posted and congrats!
  2. Fingers, toes, eyes....but honestly it doesn't sound like you're going to need it. I'm not one to make predictions, but it sounds like you are so in....keep us posted.
  3. No, not an omen, just a bad dream. Rest easy...our good news is on the way!
  4. I am so happy for you! That is so exciting..two acceptances all ready. Well excuse me! Here's to you. We celebrate your success, even as we bemoan our own fate, rending our garments and gnashing our teeth. But enough of that. Congrats, congrats!!!!
  5. First of all, welcome! Secondly that is an amazing sign. She obviously doesn't want to spill the beans. I would get ready for some good news if I were you....so exciting!
  6. Awesome! Now that sounds like a plan!!!!!!
  7. Wow! It's hard at this point to offer any clear advice when I would be so happy with an email that they could offer me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I would jump for joy. But, if I squint past my haze of desperation for just a moment I would say ANSWER THEM ASAP. If you cannot attend without funding let them know that you are applying for funding. If you can do without it, let them know that. I have seen so many acceptances without funding on the results page it might be that they have a spot for you, but not the funding. It could be that not applying for it could mean a swifter acceptance. Anyone with more experience, please add your thoughts...Oh, oh, the haze of desperation is returning....what I wouldn't do for an email asking me anything....
  8. That is so funny!!! I like your honesty, a full on hallucination! You are not alone, I have practically knocked my son down scrambling at the mail when there was nothing it in for me. So sad for my children to see me so very desperate. I asked him today if there was anything for me and he just threw back his head and let loose a deep throaty laugh. I wanted to bop him in the nose. Alas, the hallucinations are setting in....guard yourselves. Guard yourselves!!!!!
  9. I don't even drink....so where does that leave me???
  10. I was just thinking that if I had any advice to give to myself and others during this stressful time, it would be: Be Good To Yourself. I want that to be another element of what we do while we wait...THINK OF THINGS TO DO THAT ABSOLUTELY PAMPER OURSELVES. I'm thinking people....and as soon as I do something really good for myself to relieve this monumental stress, I will report it. Now let's see, what can I do......
  11. That means you've done all you can do right now. So....don't stress
  12. Hey guys! You want to hear a no plan B scenario? I only applied to one program. Now mind you, it is the only place i want to go, but it is only one. Everyone else has lists of places, so as I have said on other forums it is acceptance or bust!!!!!!
  13. Congrats! This is so exciting...We've been watching all the others get their acceptances, now it's time for the Rhet/comp people to get theirs! Woo Hoo!
  14. My life is about to change....I hope I am ready!

      yeaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Crud! I know that is frustrating. I know that when my program was late getting my transcripts, they sent me an email asking me to send my unofficial transcripts because they were reading my application. They said later that my official could be added. Perhaps that is an option for you? You could call and see if you could scan and send your unofficial so they could be evaluated with the rest of your app. Just a thought. Keep us posted and try not to get too frustrated. You have to save some of your energy for actually getting into the program and being a grad student you know!
  16. Ohhhh....I think it's a good sign that they asked, but just like EdYouKateOr said, if you are constantly getting emails it can be nerve wracking! That being said. I wish my program would ask me to make a NetID. You go...sounds good!
  17. Welcome. We're all dreamers!!!! I have no idea what a netID is....I'm sure it's a good sign but what does it mean?
  18. You know, it occurs to me that a year from now, while we will remember all of our anxiety, fear and sleepless nights, we will be so removed from it. We will be in grad programs, we will have other forums talking about our advisors, the enormity of our course work, and our RESEARCH!!!!!!. I've read other forums where people are questioning whether or not they want to even continue grad school. I know there will be challenges...of course there will. But let's not forget how much we wanted this, how much we prayed for it, hoped for it. There is another forum that awaits us my friends. When we get there let us remember what we have said here. Our lives are about to change....the question is, are we ready for it?
  19. Hello there! First of all, I love the phrase academic incest. Brilliant! Secondly, I'm sure he "talked you up" and then got extremely busy like all other POIs at this time of the year. Why would it be bugging him? Why not just write him a little email saying, Greetings, I hope this message finds you well. I know you're very busy, but I just wanted to thank you for referring me to XXXXXXXXX. It means a lot. I also want to thank you for your guidance thus far. I am looking forward to working with you in the future. If there is anything else you think I should do at this time, please advise. Again thank you. Sincerely Mochicologa. I am assuming you would use your real name. A nice email to let people know that you appreciate them, as well as to remind them that you still exist is always good in my opinion.
  20. I can't believe it! We are gradcafe twins, or at least cousins. Last night, I had a dream that I was offered acceptance into my dream program. It was a notice on the website and I could either press accept or decline. I awakened to find myself tapping my headboard repeatedly, thinking I was pressing the accept button. Oddly, it was comforting. I smiled. I shared it with my mother. She loves me and was kind and said it was a good sign. More likely it was a hallucination, but as the name of this forum indicates, all are welcome, including hallucinations!
  21. Now this is what I'm talking about!! This is exciting. Great sign, awesome sign. Get some sleep and keep us posted!!!
  22. From your mouth to God's ear. We are both getting in to the program that is right for us. Wooooo Hooooo!
  23. You are more than welcome. Make no mistake. This time for all of us is not just about getting into programs, it's about so much more. We are going to new levels in a lot of different areas in our lives. I am excited about the things to come....and graduate school is just one of them!!!!!
  24. Honestly, I don't know if I can consider that a good sign, and if it were an omen it would not be a good one. So, let us not name it. Let us just wait for the good news that you are going to get soon!!!!! And we want all the details when it comes!
  25. Ha! You are funny! Well, we can rule out hallucination right away. I have had a few of those in this process, so I would know! It's a great sign. Listen, they want to make sure they have all your documents in order to properly evaluate you. They wouldn't do that, I don't think, if they knew you were going straight to the reject pile! I'm excited for you. Keep us posted on all the details. I for one want to know how this plays out! .
