  1. Don't sweat it. I'm sure they understand how frazzled we all are.
  2. Yeah, me either. Oh well!
  3. Oh, this is so awesome to hear! I just have a few questions, if you don't mind me asking - Do you feel that there are any negatives about the program/faculty/facilities that you've experienced? - I am aware that California schools are a bit competitive. Do you feel that it is quite difficult to be accepted there? - I read online that The University of the Pacific was just recently accredited. Is it a fairly new program? - Is there anything specific about the program that you really like? - Do you have any advice for someone looking to go there? About the faculty, atmosphere, area, etc.?
  4. What initially attracted you to each program?
  5. Ah, good point. Very good point indeed! Have you made any decisions as to where you want to go yet?
  6. Somewhat confused. Someone posted an acceptance from USF from today, but another poster received an email saying that if we have not heard, we are waitlisted and will know more after April 15. What!! Did anyone who applied to USF receive any confirmation of their application, aside from the one saying it had been referred to the department?
  7. Since this is a California thread, I figured I'd ask here. Do any of you have information/input about University of the Pacific? I was looking into their accelerated program online and really liked what I saw. I wanted to hear any of your opinions before deciding to attend an open house.
  8. This is a problem I have already experienced during this application process. EdFind really hasn't been too reliable.
  9. I'm also just a bit stressed when it comes to choosing new programs to apply to. How can you even tell if a program is good or not? I felt like the U.S. News rankings were my best bet, but now I believe they are flawed.
  10. That is part of my plan! Although now I am unsure of what a "good" score actually is. Do you have any insight?
  11. Is anyone familiar with University of the Pacific?
  12. Apparently, anyone who has not heard from USF at this point is waitlisted. There's about 300 of us Unfortunately, my state does not permit SLP-A's, and the lowest grade on my transcript is a B+, so there isn't much for me to re-take.
  13. Did you have a top choice coming into this process? If not, is there anything that really excites/intrigues you about a program?
  14. I will also definitely be applying to 10+ if not admitted. I was told 3-5 was a safe bet... ha!
  15. I'm thrilled that this worked out for you! Everything is falling into place .
  16. I didn't really have any direct experience. I was told that my double major, specific interests, GPA, and leadership roles would be sufficient. However, I am now seeing that this is not the case. All advice I've garnered from TGC indicated that related volunteer experience was a good way to strengthen an application.
  17. One school informed us that there were over 470 applications this year, and they accepted 120 initially. However, the waitlist is unranked as of now because they still haven't finished reviewing applications. The above bothers me, since they made decisions without looking at all applications. No one was rejected as of yet.
  18. #3 sounds like a pretty great spot on the list!
  19. Tay1991, do you know if your waitlist was ranked or not? Also, how long did it take from your waitlist notification to your acceptance?
  20. Agreed! Take as much time as you need in order to figure it out. If you still feel that Radford is much better for you, then that's totally awesome
  21. Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you. Is it possible to revoke your acceptance to Radford, if you decide Omaha is better for you?
  22. I am planning on changing my LOR writers as well. It seems as though the letters written this time were not as helpful as I'd hoped. I am also planning on doing some related volunteer work, as I believe that was a missing component of my app. I had a lot of leadership roles, but not a lot of hands on time.
  23. Why not? It doesn't hurt to stay on the waitlist, and it may give you a chance at your dream program.
  24. I am starting this thread for those of us who have applied more than once, or will need to apply again during the next application season. This is a place to share your feelings, frustrations, success stories, and plans for the future. After being placed on 3 waitlists, I am very aware of the possibility of applying again. I am thinking of reapplying to a few of the schools I previously applied to. However, I am now beginning to look into programs with a better fit/better chance of being accepted. I am also figuring out how to strengthen my application for next season.
