  1. Oh! Gotcha. Well I guess the question that should be asked is if YOU have any feelings about the program that would sway you. I know I was interested because of their CI track. I can't really say I applied for any other reason. I think we each had very individualized reasons for wanting that program. Either way, good luck!
  2. I'm 150% I WOULD go if I got in. All the more reason to stick it out, I guess.
  3. Ah okay. I wasn't sure if it was worth remaining on the waitlist. I assume it's kind of a 50/50 shot then.
  4. Nope, like a ranked waitlist
  5. Does anyone know if USC actually rejects anyone? Or is everyone wait listed? Is it ranked? Help!
  6. Personally, I feel as if you already know your answer. If the debt isn't worth it for you, and all you want is an MS with no particular research focus or anything like that, why burden yourself financially? It seems as though you are worried about the cost, since you described it as "crippled with debt". Any school will provide you with a great foundation to be a clinician if that's what you want to do. If you have no real reason to choose a costly school over a less expensive one, I think that says something. However, it all comes down to what makes you happy/satisfied/comfortable in the end. Good luck!
  7. It does make me feel better. It also makes me feel better to know that so many people go through the application process more than once- it may not be a reflection on me! I'll spend the next few months strengthening my application and trying to make myself stand out. This is my dream, what I've been working towards. I can't let one minor roadblock keep me from doing what I love.
  8. Don't think that! I know in many cases (NYU, UVA, etc.) acceptances were e-mailed over the course of a few days. It all depends on the program and how they're doing things. You still have a shot .
  9. I'm so thrilled for all of you today!
  10. I hope they hurry it up!! Man that is rough. At least the break up left you with something positive! I can't even imagine what it's like for people who are married and have families. It's a really difficult process, especially when relocation is something to consider. Luckily, my boyfriend will be coming with me wherever I go for grad school. We were already a long distance couple for about a year, so I'm sure we'll survive. Hopefully.
  11. Nope I'm assuming UVA has only sent out a handful of acceptances, since I've only seen ~5 on the results board. UVA was a little bit of a reach for me though, so we will see. I'm still waitlisted at USC, and their letter indicated that second round acceptances from the waitlist would be made at the end of the month. It makes me feel a little bit better knowing that many people apply more than once. At least it isn't just me. The only thing that isn't so great is that I will have to live 18 hours away from my boyfriend of 4 years while I'm reapplying.
  12. I decided to send a very nice e-mail to USF inquiring about their progress in decision making. If they've made all of their acceptances and are just waiting to send out waitlists/rejections (like UNC-CH did), I would rather know. I don't want to keep thinking there's a chance when it's been long gone. The sooner this process is over, the better! Then I can move on and start perfecting my applications for next season.
  13. Thanks! I hope you have a great trip there!
  14. Thanks for the tip! My GRE scores were good I think (306), but I can always retake if necessary .
  15. Yes, please let me know!! They have a research focus in my area of desired specialty, and Spring admission, so I really am looking into it! I've never been to Texas, so any bit of info helps me out. Judging from ASHA and edfind, it seemed like it was pretty average in terms of competitiveness (3.6ish?). Does this seem accurate?
  16. Nope, although judging from past years, they do not send a confirmation email.
  17. Oh no you were right. I was rejected from two and waitlisted at one. I am assuming the last two are rejections as well.
  18. Unfortunately, I am moving out of MD right after I graduate. My lease is up and I can't afford to live in this area any longer.
  19. Yup! That's where I found their average GPA, GRE, and general focus! I just didn't know if anyone had heard anything else that maybe ASHA doesn't report.
  20. Just to be safe, I looked into a few schools to consider applying to next cycle. I tried to find some that had (somewhat) of an interest in cochlear implants. Does anyone have any info/opinions on: University of North Carolina Greensboro University of Texas at Dallas University of Alabama?
  21. I have accepted that I will need to reapply next year. Look out, guys! I'll be here a long time.
  22. Oh, and today during one of my classes, a girl was notified that she was accepted to a school. She cried so many happy tears, since she had very low stats and was not expecting much. Very exciting! We were all so happy for her. Someone should definitely be there to release balloons and confetti when you get happy news.
  23. Really? I was told by a current UVA undergrad that they seem to accept in one large heaping, and then the rest are technically waitlisted until they hear back from the first round admits. But that could be wrong .
