I should probably be working on writing the background section or coding data for a study I'm working on with some faculty where I work since we have a meeting tomorrow but here I am on the forums

A negative decision coming on my birthday definitely put a damper on things but here I am another year older and still have some schools on the board...this whole getting old thing is a bit of downer though. Happy birthday to all of you that are dealing with decision and birthday season simultaneously

Eager...Thank you for being this boards eternal optimist. As one of the biggest pessimists I know its good to have someone that will talk me down a bit when things like this happen. You are truly a much needed asset to this thread and board.

Sounds like we have some overlap on our schools...Congrats. Hopefully Missouri gets my results to me soon and Wisconsin lets both of us know.

I had to check the system to find out I didnt get an email.

I'll take an acceptance...its my birthday for crying out loud and all I've gotten so far today was a rejection

and the decision came in from Minnesota as rejected...sigh

Minnesota rejected me on my birthday thats just cold

my plan B is to keep being an adjunct

its a shame that mentality doesnt change that much once they get to college either

Thanks...Unfortunately according to the site I will most likely have to wait 1 business before the decision is posted after seeing the decision made notification

I have it worse than waiting for a status change now...my status says Decision Made but it says I have to wait to get that decision...time to throw a 3 year old temper tantrum

Of course now my Final Review has been changed again to Decision Made but it wont tell me what that decision is. For the love of god just tell me already.

From what I've gathered it could mean a few things. It could mean that you arent beinge accepted yet but they want to see if others accept the offers before formally accepting or rejecting you. This basically functions as being unofficially waitlisted. Or it could just simply mean that they havent made a decision on your app yet.

My dilemma is that all of my recommenders are now colleagues as I was hired as a lecturer in the department I got my Masters from. I'm try to show appreciation without trying to alienate those I didnt ask since many were willing. Any thoughts?

every time my phone goes off with an email I jump a little bit. I just got a birthday message from the chancellor at the University I work at...Ive never been more irritated at a wishing of happy birthday ugh

3 weeks sounds like several to me

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this. I had a status changed from Awaiting Program Decision to Final Review. Do you think that means the department has accepted me and has passed me to the grad school or if they are putting me in the maybe pile?

AHHH! Minnesota changed my status from Awaiting Program Decision to Final Review. I hope thats a good sign.
