  1. No, I haven't. I purposfully didn't contact POIs as such act doesn't really help. Have you contacted some of the POIs? If so, what information have they provided to you in regards to the admission process? I'd love to know
  2. First of all, congratulations on getting accepted to Yale! I have a question: Did the school (administrator or somebody else) mention about in-person campus? Something like one more year of taking remote classes (including the TA ship online). I would like to get some info if you have some
  3. That's great, congrats!! May I ask what kinds of questions were the unviersity asking?
  4. Hi, I'm really glad to see this thread existing. Here are my list of schools applied a month ago: University of Washington (first choice) University of Iowa University of Florida (English, but will be studying Film and Media Studies) University of Toronto I didn't apply to schools like Berkeley, NYU, or Yale, because I know my GPA and GRE scores aren't good enough to be competitive. Also, It seems that a lot of people in this thread have applied to UW. Scared of the competition with some of you (especially this year, which has been fiercely competitive due to COVID), but good luck to you all! If one of you received an interview offer from UW in end of February or early March, please let me know!

same here...need to have a draft for review

  8. I'm so jealous b/c I applied the same program. Congrats, and I hope you have a fantastic time visiting the campus! Do they give you free flight tickets for the visit?
  9. I am 29, but I think I will give it another shot even if I don't get into all the schools I'd applied. At the same time, if i get accepted, I worry that I'll be the oldest among the colleagues.
  10. Sorry to hear that. I too got rejected by Minnesota (journalism, PhD) today. It didn't nearly impacted me as you did, since it wasn't my top choice (I didn't put much enthusiasm in application as I did with my top choice school). But I am started to get worried that my dream school might not choose me over other candidates.
  11. Definitely "Media/Society: Industries, Images, and Audiences 4th" (Croteau et al.), because they pack with up-to-date concepts and current situation in a most comprehensible way possible. I studied this myself while at MA program in Communication (eventually I landed on my interest in culture).
