  1. Tell me what you guys make of this situation with one of my prospective schools... On my electronic application dossier, they acknowledged receipt of my two LORs shortly after they had been submitted by my referees. A couple of weeks later, they acknowledged receipt of a third LOR. That didn't sound right, because I'd only requested letters from two referees. Also, while I've heard of the professor the third letter was supposedly from (he's from my undergrad institution, in a discipline related to the program to which I'm applying), I've never met him in my life. Right away, I emailed asking them to look into it because I believed that letter must have been meant for another student's file. They wrote back thanking me for my message and apologising for the confusion, saying that they would adjust my file accordingly. I checked a couple of days later, and that letter was still on my file. Not only that, but there was now yet another note on there, stating that an LOR from this same professor had been updated to my file. So now I supposedly had four letters: two from my actual referees, and two from this other professor I've never met. What does it all mean? Technical glitch, or something else? What I'm most concerned about is, if other students' documents are being added to my file, where are my documents ending up?
  2. Call to check, but it sounds like if they issue you an acceptance it will be conditional pending your submission of an updated transcript with your final winter grades (assuming you are currently in school).
  3. Yes, because of the small parts. The ones I was wolfing down yesterday weren't the ones with the toys, though. I was eating the Kinder Bueno ones. They're a wafery egg with a chocolate coating and some kind of nutella-like substance inside.
  4. I've also been getting the, "you'll get in everywhere, I'm certain of it" comments. While it's nice to have the moral support, this opinion is not based in fact, so it does little to alleviate my anxiety.
  5. Thanks. Still curious what everyone else did, though!
  6. Kinder easter eggs! They're like Ferrero Rocher without the gross hazlenuts.
  7. I did a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and International Business. The programs I've applied to tout themselves as "interdisciplinary", but I'm just wondering if my lack of poli sci is a huge detriment.
  8. Out of curiosity, if you are doing (or have done) grad studies in International Affairs, what was your undergrad discipline?
  9. Body Guard!
  10. I received an email about this. All this means is we've met the minimum admission requirements and that our files are now in the hands of the admissions committee.
  11. That's horrible, skiby. I'm incensed on your behalf.
  12. Heavy Load
  13. Thanks.
  14. I don't think those statuses are universal across programs. I applied at NPSIA. My status has gone through the following sequence: preliminary review required (Jan) review in progress by department (Feb 14) recommended for assessment (Feb 27)
  15. You called them?
  16. full blown
  17. I found this about statuses for the MSW: http://www1.carleton.ca/socialwork/2013/2013-14-msw-applicants-admissions-decisions However, I applied for a different program. I'm not sure if the statuses are universal for all programs.
  18. Hello! My application status on my Carleton Central account has been updated to "Recommended for Assessment." Anyone know what this means, exactly?
