  1. Got recommended for student research grant to France! It hasn't quite sunk in. To all my forum buddies who were not recommended I send big internet hugs! You guys are amazingly talented, intelligent, and ambitious and I know that there are many other amazing opportunities waiting for you (possibly even reapplying?). Congrats to everyone who was recommended. Look forward to be waiting with you for round 2.
  2. OK going to go to try and be zen for a few hours. Good luck everyone!
  3. 142 people, only 37 members. Where did all these lurkers come from?! Create accounts and join us guys
  4. CONGRATULATIONS!!
  5. 2.5 hours before emails are released and we have 31 members and 76 lurkers on here! We're at 107 folks~
  6. Funny posts from Twitter: "Five hours until I find out whether or not I move to the next round of the Fulbright selection process. Gimme ALL the drinks." "Also the Fellowship Office on campus telling us to "keep an eye out" for Fulbright notifications today is not helping with my stress levels." Yay for being able to look at Twitter posts without actually having a Twitter
  7. Smart man
  8. OK so based on what other people wrote, I just realized that I totally misunderstood your post Kelsey. I thought you were talking about a university you are attending now, not one you are applying to attend with Fulbright funding. So ignore my post, my brain is obviously all over the place today and has decided that full comprehension skills were putting too much of a demand on Olivia's brain.
  9. Lol it's OK, it makes it easier for everyone to find the document that way
  10. 5 hours...........O______________________O
  11. I'm not sure I see the reason to because you applied at-large. I don't think your school status matters in the next round.
  12. Question with the spreadsheet: when we find out our results for this round, will we be updating "recommended" and "not recommended"? I think people in years past wanted it to be "recommended" and "rejected" and it personally seems to be way too negative.
  13. But the mention of the ETA grant makes me think they are confused. Those are only for students.
  14. From my understanding, FPAs may have access to a database that displays the names and statuses of applicants. I'm guessing his FPA told him early that he got recommended. And yes, this is just the recommendation phase, but they probably misunderstood. Many people that I have talked to about my Fulbright application tend to get confused with the two rounds idea.
  15. Yep it looks like it is definitely today, just saw this posted on Twitter: "FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR: Congrats to Andrew B, Greenschools Student for many years and now Fulbright Scholar to be an English Teaching Assistant in Germany! BEST WISHES ANDREW! WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOUR WORK [and you will keep in touch]!"
  16. Glad you're OK (well at least physically)! Hope you will feel better!
  17. I like your game day strategy! Best of luck to you
  18. Hey Catholic guilt is powerful stuff man, you cannot escape its grasps sometimes. I have prayed about it and am ok with whatever the decision is personally, but it's having to tell my Fulbright cheerleaders that I dread. If nothing else, the process has revealed to me who has my back 100%, but I don't want to disappoint people.
  19. Lol my boyfriend said that we'll either go celebrate or get ice cream, with the added disclosure that he doesn't condone emotional eating, but this is a circumstance that deserves to be an exception.
  20. Don't know if I can say the Fulbright put me through "hell and back", but there were moments where I melodramatically felt like it.
  21. Good song! My last concert was Night Ranger, Foreigner, and Journey. Simply put, very EPIC!
  22. YAY!! Glad I could help ^___^
  23. I love Daft Punk! "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" is so iconic.
  24. Lol XD At first I was thinking "what do vampires have to do with Fulbright?", then it clicked. One of mine is by New Radicals "You Get What You Give." It was great when I was absolutely fed up with my SOGP or PS.
  25. We should create a Fulbright notification playlist! Actually, there were songs I listened to repeatedly while working on my application to keep me psyched up. Did anyone else do the same?
