  1. I need some advice here too. I have done my Masters in Public Administration with 3.8 gpa. My GRE is kinda low Q 152 V 152 AW 3.5. I have one publication. As for my work experience I have been teaching undergraduate students as visiting faculty in various universities here in Pakistan since the last three years. since I don't have public experience but a lot of experience of teaching and social work I plan to switch to social policy. I NEED to get into a fully funded reputed program. Reason, well this year I got into UTDallas's PhD program with partial funding but the embassy denied me visa because my parents and siblings are US citizens. What do you guys suggest ? I study hard for GRE and hope to get into a very good program OR forget about US and focus on Uk or Australia. Problem with schools outside US is they don't have funding and I can't afford to pay the huge fee they charge.
  2. I am prsenting at American Society of Public Administration's 3rd International Young Scholar's Workshop.. my first time in any conference/workshop ... anybody else ?? It's in China
  3. I really do want it ! But it has been rough.. feel deeply disappointed.. I just need the gather up my courage and resolve that was just so badly torn by these rejections.. will have to retake GRE, work on some more publications, and gain some additional coursework.. Then again.. it's just a year.. I spent 12 years as a stay-at-home .. don't regret that... Thankfully I don't have worry about looking for a job.. My husband supports me well at this
  4. I am 34 with four children who are all above ten years of age. I got rejected from all schools I applied to this year. I worked so hard and still I didn't make it.. Probably it wasn't enough. By the next year round obviously I would have lost one year that could have been used for graduate study.. seeing people like me here is kind of relieving. But yes going through the admission cycle all over again is stressful... Should I just give up... ??
  5. Ok I am down to 5 rejections out of 7 schools I applied to. One even after an interview. Not hopeful about the other two either. So may be next year ! *SIGH*
  6. Has anybody applied to WashU's PhD program ?? I am still waiting for the decision..
  7. One more rejection. Applied to seven schools and so far two rejections and not a single good news. I am literally getting seriously worried now cx I have made the mistake of applying to good schools only.. no safe schools .. Big Mistake .. !!
  8. rejection after the interview.. that SUCKS.. !!! I am impatieblty waiting for decisions. Got one rejection so far and waiting to hear from 6 .. not hoping much from many ..
  9. The results search here shows that some people have received acceptance from the American University for Public Affairs/Policy PhDprograms. I have applied there and haven't heard anythin yet .. so is no news a bad news here ??
  10. Got my first rejection today, the first decision to be exact. So I don't have any acceptance and it definitely is bothering me now. When the decisions start off with bad news they can really suck the hope out of you. Although I wasn't very hopeful with this school, but this rejection is making me skeptical about the other schools I was hopeful with.. lets see..
  11. How strong are the chances of rejection AFTER you have gotten an interview? I had a skype interview with two faculty members for PhD program on 27 Jan. No word from them since then
  12. Hi all, I had applied to the PhD program at the Brown's School of Social work at WashU. Got an interview call with two of the top most professors. It went pretty well. Does anybody know when do they let out the admission decisions ?
