Firstly, congrats to all those accepted at York. I am starting to think the same thing about UofT, I have no changes on ROSI, my sgs is still "under review" and my "myfile" at York is still listed as "no decision yet" which I will take as a sign there is still hope because last year my York status brutally changed to "unsuccessful" after I refreshed it an hour later! -

I wonder about this too sometimes but I can't see that being a huge factor, at the end of the day I think that the qualifications are what is considered above all else. I would assume that competition for spaces in Ontario is really stiff compared to some of the other provinces (correct me if I am wrong) and as an Ontario candidate I suppose you would be aware of that and try to become a stronger candidate meaning statistically people applying from Ontario might end up being the majority of those accepted into Ontario schools, phew I hope that made sense lol! At the end of the day, if you have the total package I don't think they care where you are coming from People could be living in various provinces for short/long term purposes so it would be hard to know if that is their permanent residence. -

That is also how it has been explained to me and how I have understood it. I think it is safe to say that UofT has gone through all of our applications at least once, otherwise nobody would have been accepted yet, it wouldn't make sense to only read half of the applications and accept some of those people without reading the other half of applications. They might be accepting the updated information in the chance that you are on a wait-list or maybe it will be considered as part of your application with the second round of offers. I still find it odd that they are accepting updated resumes without explicitly stating on the website that they will be looked at as part of your application. With updated transcripts last year I was specifically told that those grades would be considered a part of my application, it doesn't seem to be as clear cut of an answer for the updated CVs. I checked my mail today, no letters yet, I guess no news is good news -

That is really tough, I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope you get into your other options it sounds like you have great experience, that is very strange -

This seems to be a generic "copy/paste" response that she is sending to everyone who asks about decisions, I think I've read the exact same e-mail a few times on the forum in the past few weeks doesn't really clarify I guess we'll just have to continue with this excruciating waiting, Has anyone who was accepted on Friday on ROSI received their package in the mail yet? Every time the post comes in and there is nothing I breathe a sigh of relief, hopefully by the end of the week a few more of us can have some peace of mind! My stress has reached peak today, I've already baked a lasagna and brownies to try to relieve some stress lol does anyone care for a brownie:D -

Me too, and imableakvision, I have been having nightmares about this whole process it is the worst feeling in the world. A few days ago I had the best dream ever, I got an acceptance and my alarm went off I was so sad to wake up ahaha. ash_d19, I feel the same, last year I was waitlisted at both schools I applied to and I worked my butt off to get more experience this year but something is giving me the feeling that I can anticipate a rejection or waitlist again. It would be so discouraging to go through this all over again I am contemplating whether I will be mentally tough enough to do this again for the third year in a row. -

Hey there, York sent my letter on April 21 last year I remember people were hearing back March 31 for acceptances, I am pretty sure York follows rolling admissions. They don't really state their expected timeline anywhere on their site, last year I e-mailed and was told they would send by a certain date but it ended up being 2 weeks later so take it with a grain of salt. I remember reading 2 years ago that people were hearing back from them into late April early May they don't seem to have a standard timeline. Hopefully it will come soon! -

I feel you! I really wish I had the self restraint to stop checking ROSI throughout the day but I just can't. I am also anxiously waiting for the afternoon when the snail mail gets here so I can check and see if there is a rejection letter... oh boy it is going to be a rough week! I am still trying to convince myself that it is impossible that only 4 people from the forum got accepted, there has to be more of us... right?....... -

Congrats on the acceptance! That is awesome, if you are in the GTA you can probably expect your letter to arrive today or in the next few days, ROSI is probably changed on the same day the letters are mailed out. I'm assuming that once you get the letter that you are supposed to log into ROSI and accept the offer or something. Anyways I will be checking my mailbox 50 times today for a rejection or wait-list, until then I will hold on to the last sliver of hope I have for an acceptance. -

Last year everyone heard around pretty much the same 2-3 day period from what I remember (via snail mail), but this year is very different. Hearing back the second week of March for 2 year is very out of the ordinary. I think that they have changed their system this year, from what I can remember reading the advanced standing also heard in waves not all at once this year (correct me if I am wrong) Also as far as getting emailed rejections etc. UofT did not send e-mails last year, I got my waitlist via mail. I moved in September so I never received the physical rejection letter but I had Angela e-mail it to me, just to confirm (yes I was slightly in denial lol) Not sure about the other two schools though. -

I graduated last year (and applied the first time last year) and I have to say that this is a really difficult process! I won't even lie I was completely distracted in the final month of school and the only thing that got me to push myself was the fact that I knew I didn't want to screw up my GPA in case I needed to apply again this year. Remember, this is the final stretch, and your last chance to really boost your marks (unless you plan on going back and boosting later) Also, like lightning1129 has mentioned, finishing undegrad is something worth being very proud of! I found it helped to get out of my house and work in a library or Starbucks because being at home made me much more susceptible to wandering around the internet instead of writing essays or studying. You can do it! -

If anyone is interested I went back to the beginning of the forum and lightning1129 shared their experience on page 4, clearly a well deserving candidate with great experience, I can see why they were accepted. Hope you are out celebrating lightning1129! Makes me even more nervous -

Yes! Even though I know there probably won't be any updates, I'm still holding on to hope though! From what I've seen only 2 people from the forum have been accepted so I am guessing that this is not the last of the admissions, I'll keep my chin up until the official letter comes in the mail or at least try. Going through a wait-list or rejection for the second year in a row would really dampen my spirits If the people who have been accepted for the 2 year @ uoft wouldn't mind sharing their experience profile I'd really appreciate it It'd be nice to get an idea of what it takes to get in this year -

Is anyone else having issues logging into ROSI? Everytime I log in I keep having to reactivate my pin because it says it's wrong (I know for a 100% fact it is correct) I wonder if all the social work applicants are making the site crash lol! -

Yeah, I keep telling myself "only one more refresh until Monday" that is sooo not going to happen LOL Also blh22 I agree! This is so intense I can't believe we might finally have answers after this very long long winter waiting period! Does anyone remember if the advanced standing students found out all in one day via rosi this year or if it was spaced out over a few days? -

hey it should show right on the first page when you log in, mine currently says "no registration history" in red, if you are accepted I think something green saying invited appears in that spot -

That must be really tough Bettyg, I can't even imagine having all that added stress/pressure on top of this process. I hope you start getting some responses soon. All of this varying information from UofT is making my head spin I hate feeling like I have no control over my life Job searching only makes me yearn for my MSW even more, getting jobs in the field with a BA is a serious wake up call... I hope everyone is taking good care of themselves, in an effort to cheer myself up I remind myself only 14 more business days until April!
