  1. ... Definitely noticed.
  2. That may be true. I just don't think he presented it well at all. Maybe the point was "if I can handle this so can you" but the presentation was awful. It was like "well I had this happen to me... This trumps your situation so ha" and that's not cool. Had the presentation been better maybe people wouldn't have had such a bad reaction.
  3. There was no need to bring it up at all. Maybe the OP feels like her mental state is holding her back and is the reason and she's entitled to that, she doesn't need someone saying "oh well my who family died but look at me I'm fine" it just isn't needed.
  4. Lol like I said unlike you I have no intent to derail this thread or tell some sob story. I don't care about my reputation on here. I don't know these people they don't know me so it doesn't matter. You seem to be the only person concerned with reputation on here:/
  5. How about we try not to derail someone else's thread. I know you enjoy making it about you but it isn't.
  6. I definitely want to upgrade my beer taste. I like honey brown a lot is that good beer?
  7. Ok what about us cheap people because I like to drink but I hate spending a lot lol. I mean I am not looking for like natty light cheap but I want good beer (preferably sweeter) that's not super expensive.
  8. For me I just read up about all the interviewers I knew his background, I read up on the program and came up with questions. When they asked me about myself I told them my undergrad stats and my future goals. I had to write an essay before the interview so my answer about my strengths was already written out from that essay. I just remembered what I wrote. I tried not to sound too rehearsed though
  9. Not too late I sent a thank you after my fellowship interview about 3-5 days after
  10. Head under water then they tell me to breathe easy for a while. Breathing gets harder even I know that<33

saving is hard. and no one teaches it to you. Check out this new bank "Simple" it can be slow on transfers and stuff, but has some really unique money saving tools

  13. NETFLIX! Start watching a series! I am one where I can watch NF all day long, take up knitting (I also did that), I looked into events I wanted to go to so I would weekly have something to look forward to, I started exercising and dieting.. Woo ADVOCARE! I also found a job that takes a large part of my time. I'm also a major major nerd I started playing the Sims in my free time kind of.. I am ashamed to actually admit it but yes I play some computer games! I also started reading a lot. I got a kindle so I take it everywhere practically. That is what I did to pass my time.
  14. OP you haven't updated in a while, what happened? I think you're entitled to your feelings and in all honesty people shouldn't try to "one up" you with their tragic "life story" it's just sad. One situation isn't worse than the other and doesn't change how you feel. People are effected differently by situations. Good luck hope it all works out for you.
  15. I definitely want to stay in the US for this first trip. I will probably go to Virginia Beach or Myrtle Beach or something like that. I have thought about NY they have a lot of museums I would want to go to. I can't think of anything I would want to see on the beach besides... The beach lol and bars. I hate to sound like a total alcoholic but anywhere I go I want to try out the bars. Maybe I will start super small and go to a sporting event alone like an out of town sporting event, maybe an OSU game or something. Going to sporting events alone is a small start? People do that right? I feel like I would just he insanely paranoid (as I am when I go anywhere alone). You can tell I don't get out much lol
  16. That sounds really cool I didn't even know you could do that, thanks.
  17. Has anyone ever gone on vacation alone? In the country or out? I want to go on a trip, I haven't ever been to a beach or anything like that and it would be cool to do if I can get the time off of work. The thing is I would maybe consider going alone. I don't think my parents would approve (I'm 23 but what my parents think is important to me) I just don't want to be put in a super dangerous position. I mean I know the rules about not drinking a ton, or leaving your drinks alone, and stuff like that but is it possible to go on a trip alone and actually have fun?
  18. Part of me kind of wants to plan a trip to a beach this summer, I've never been and I've never been on an airplane. It would be kind of like a last hooray before school and before my friends baby is born. I don't know that she could fly though..? I would go alone but traveling alone seems really scary. That's it. I don't really have any other strong desires before grad school, I really just want to start and finish pretty soon.
  19. I hate when I accidentally down vote myself... Oh well

  20. It took about a full month with all of the schools a little over actually. Good luck!!
