maybe it pays for the people who actually get into the programs haha like alot of the phd programs i apply for are fully funded for everything...whooaa so if you have 200 people applying at 100$ each for 5 spots.....iduno.....

I inverted my GRE scores on one of my applications i emailed teh secretary about the mistake on my app but no repsonse so im going to call her tomorrow, worth a shot.

i don't get how people can make fit paragraphs work....haha everyone seems to do them yet when i tried to change 1 paragraph it felt off......like i wrote a new SOP for each school......because i tweaked how all my experiences were relevant to the research at the school and i had a differnt aim at each school. i love overthinking 2pg papers! haha.

lmao maybe its your program 3/5 of my canadian schools needed gres subject+general......and yea they were all 100 bucks to apply for! wth! even the masters programs were like 90.

haha i love it! it will be soooooo worth it an acceptance kudos to you & canadian schools! i remember i paid over 100$ to get my passport renewed in like a day to take the gre....which i took twice + subject. ow.

im at 605$ on application fees for 7 schools....excluding gre/gre prepclass....... ouch.

honestly these are desperate times i could use the automated email reminder and i woudl spam there inbox if i cant meet them in person/phone them

iduno i def stay pretty close to the word length ie. my yale application was 1500 words and itwas suppose dto be 1000 and i cut it down to 999 its submitted online so i thought itd be an easy way for them to word count it! and these things are supposed to be direct.

im at this weird stage where im scared shitless to get in anywhere......the thought of moving schools cities countries etc, i will miss my apartment! & being aroun dhardcore academics will be such a change from the lax people i hang around now ahhh im applying to 7 i predict 4. just because i think my major gpa will shine through.....and my sops i put a little of my soul into.

oh man i wish i went off these........i def tried to mention everything haha but for schoools i included a cv with i elaborated on teh ideas i got from teh projects and put the skills in the cv

emotion and decision making! im into that too! i heard flordia is good for emotion reserach im into moral cognition though & philosophy! ahhh i love it.

yay! publication noway! my senior thesis is NOT STARTED ugh. 1 semester on it wasted.

i agree. i think it depends on the program. i've been told not to talk to multiple profs at 1 school because psyc is a very apprentice based program....and usually if a prof is leaving the school there is an opportunity for grad students to follow, im not saying that happens every single time but its not an uncommon thing. Some schools i cut off my list because a specific prof wasn't taking students others i have more then 1 id be happy to work with but i only picked one to charm haha, they have a handful of qualified people who want to work with them....

iduno i've been told not to do this. what if they both want to work with you? at least they're aware you're both interested but you can't say you're more interested in one then the other/ equally interested. I contacted 1 prof at each school who I felt was a better fit then the 2 or 3 others i mentioned in my application.

yea they get the official reports and then add them to your applicaiton one school wanted photocopies of my gre score reports but ididnt have them and the secretary said to just emial them to her when i get them.......if that ever happens!

lmao this is true i haven't worked on my thesis since end of sept which ws the last time i saw my supervisor because he.........dissapears and my classes have been a waste cuz i dont appreciate them at all which is unfortunate you get all the good classes in your senior year! luckily im only doing poorly in 1 class

i definetly agree with you i know alot of people who didnt apply to schools that needed it cuz they just didnt feel like taking it its easy to weed quantitative....aspects of an application gre/gpa etc i think at the stage of graduate school where its omre about ideas and reserach potential gre is a distraction/ poor indicator

this was my plan i spent like 2 months on my 1st one......then i was just going to tweak it but then i just ended up completely writing a new one for the rest of my schools because i tailored it completely to the reserach there i was doing slightly different research topics at 1 school, from diet and peer relations to moral psyc. i like this better because it shows how everything i did can be applied both in terms of skills and research to what i wanted to do at that school. but i guess i stuck to the same template so it was easier that way.
