Why do you want to know...? (okay, I am lol, but I am kinda surprised they haven't boot me out yet.)
-
Am I the only person who is going to graduate school to learn...?

Teach them to cook.

How to come out to your lab mates and advisor?

Why do you feel you needed to come out? -
Getting off to a good start

Why is this guy getting downvoted? I think this is quite admirable, to devote everything to your research. -
Well my department hasn't updated their course list yet, and they say I have register exactly on that date or they gonna fine me. Not prepared for that...I wish they show the list so I can make a worklist.

I just got my OGS from MAC, lol. I thought the university emailed me cuz I forgot to register since I've so busy working.

Anyone thinking of using http://www.airwaystransit.com/locations.shtml to come to Hamilton? How reliable are these guys, does anyone know?

Good question, I am probably gonna go with "grad student" if someone asks me and only if the person wants to know the degree I am working towards, I will specify.
-
So bottomline, don't throw out college degrees, but high school diplomas are okay.
-
Are you saying I don't have common sense...?
-
But if I got my BS, why would anyone want to see my high school diploma?
-
Now that I have graduated from college and gotten my Bachelors, is there really any point of me keeping my High School Diploma? Similiarly, once I get my Ph.D or Masters, is there a point in keep the physical degree or diploma? What are you thoughts? I am clenaing up my room and found a lot of garbage.

I think scholarships you earned or won may still be relevant. BUt I would never put my GPA on a CV no matter how high it is.

Also as disgusting as this sounds, depending on where you live where water isn't free, skip showers.

So my supervisor recently updated his website and he now lists all his former grad students. I personally don't like my (real) name up on the internet for everyone to search me up, yeah I know, I am too conceited. How do I tell him I don't want my name up on his website without sounding like "I don't like you" or "I don't think my name deserves to be on your website because it is too good for you". Should I ask in person or on email?

Hmm true, but I think this depends on group sizes no?
-
No not once a week 2 hours, twice a week 2 hours, at night; so in total 4 hours a week. I think lessons are from 7:30 to 9:30. But are your fencing activities scheduled at a fixed time?
-
So you suggest I go for the martial arts? Lessons are twice a week at night (2 hours), you think that might eat up too much time?
-
As a Ph.D now or was it also true when you were doing your MSc?
-
Don't buy new clothes if they are torn, I just patch mine up.

Today, I saw one of my prof at the supermarket. Ever since elementary to high school, I've always wondered "How come I never see my teachers at the supermarket or how come to school!?" Today I saw him and we got on the same bus together. In big cities like NYC, I guess it is normal to not drive or worry about getting a license, but I feel like there is some societal pressure on certain professionals and they are expected to behave a certain way. Anyways, do you think it's odd that some profs don't drive, AT ALL? Would you feel awkward seeing them on the same bus or train? What does it feel like knowing that one of your student may know where you live.

This is a really straightforward question, and particularly helpful for me if you are in STEM field like me. Because I was thinking of learning something else on the side while in grad school (an instrument maybe or a martial arts or even learn how to oil paint.) Do you find yourself busier than you were in your undergrad or freer (assuming you took a full load)? Obviously this varies if you are Ph.D student or a Masters student and situation.

I am not joking, but buy a lot of instant ramen.
