having lived in seattle, i gotta agree with free radical it's an amazing city and UW has plenty of connections with global health organizations. Either way you can't go wrong . both universities have great public health schools. Congrats

I had a chat conversation with the director of the program back in spetember when i was contemplating whether the program was a good fit for me and he told me that between 12 and 15 people would be admitted. this is consistent with what people said above. UNC accepts anybody with decent stats??? right i have some friends who got rejected at UNC and admitted at Harvard.

Anybody heard from Berkeley epi phd program? it's my top choice. so far i got one acceptance at pitt (epi phd) and one rejection at UW (implementation science phd)

Congrats MPH(D) i am happy to see people getting positve results after suffering some setbacks. I got rejected from hopkins and UW and accepted at pittsburgh for epi PhD . It's not over until it's over. i am still waiting to hear from 6 schools. Good luck to everybody still waiting on an acceptance.

I have a masters in clinical immunology i did take some few classes in global health and i did an internship at the WHO. i have been accepted to pitt epi phd program. I think it really depends on your public health experience and how strong the other applicants are.

It all depends on what you trying to get out of your degree ? If you in it for the benjamins you might as well change fields.

we applied to the same programs except for UNC. Argh im interested in infectious dis epi. i emailed pitt yesterday this is the reply i got from them "The Epidemiology department has just started reviewing their applications on our school-wide deadline of January 15. We expect decisions to be made within the next 4-6 weeks, but the department will issue decisions on a rolling basis as they are made for each individual applicant." So i think it really depends on when you submittted your application

Have you heard anything from UW? i also applied there i contacted the director of the implementation track and he told me we should hear something in the next two weeks. I just saw that last year they interviewed apllicants in mid jan. I am sure it means that i am not in.

I emailed the POI in may and we had several skype convos before submiting my application. It really depends on the professor.

I applied to Harvard too (Epi SD) and yes aslo received the financial aid application and the summer admissions thing. i think they send it to every applicant. I called HSPH admissions office last week. Apparently HSPH start sending decisions around mid-feb . I also applied to Pitt and Tulane

had the same situation with a POI. But that was in August before i even applied. I think you should email her around the 27th and ask if she is istill nterested in scheduling a skype call with you. You have nothing to lose.

i am surprised you applied to only two programs. are you interested in the "brand" or the education that you can get?? There are plenty of good( or better?) public health programs ( UNC, emory , columbia , michigan,UW, etc,,,) and full funding for mph is very difficult to get.

i had the same situation with george washington, i submitted my application on december 1st and it's only yesterday that i recieved a mail letting me know my application was complete . SMH

complete my master's and try to get a job/internship in my field if i don't get in (phd in epi) , i will consider law school.
