  1. Are there really scholarships for high GRE scores?
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. I wish there were more internship opportunities for undergrads in speech. All my friends in other majors have internships for the summer.
  3. Hi guys, I'm looking for possible suggestions of things to do this summer that would help my application for grad school. I've been volunteering with an SLP last summer and want to do something different this summer. Any internship ideas? Study for the GRE?
  4. Yancey did you receive any from Columbia Teachers College? I want to apply there next year. How much is the tuition?
  5. I was wondering which grad schools offer scholarships for SLP grad students? Also has anyone here ever received a scholarship?
  6. I'm wondering the same thing. I got a B- is my stats and Bio class and wondering whether it would be acceptable?
  7. Do you they expect all your undergrad classes to have an individual grade of atleast 3.0. Let's say one of the classes that counts towards your 60 semester hours is the one you got C on. Would they look at that individual mark or just the overall 60 semester GPA?
  8. Thanks speechie123, but I was just a little concerned looking at this :http://police.sdsu.edu/bulletins.htm#CrimeAlerts
  9. How's the place in regards to safety? My friend who went there said there was a lot of crime.
  10. I have the same question. Also does Columbia have medical externships?
  11. What was the best way for you to study for the GRE?
  12. Also how recent do the dates have to be? I did some volunteering in 2011 but will be applying next year...
  13. Also did any of you take Neuroanatomy, it's listed in the prereqs at SDSU
  14. Canadian applicants do you know if volunteer hours have to be documented in some sort?
  15. Congrats on your acceptance! I'm aiming for SDSU next year. Does anyone have any info about housing in the area?
  16. Do any U.S. applicants know if U.S. schools value an honors degree?
  17. Does anyone know if volunteer hours have to be recorded on some type of document thing? And is it just with an SLP that they have to be recorded? I worked with an audiologist so I'm not sure if I can record those hours.
  18. Which USU courses would you day are the easier ones to handle?
  19. Thanks for the advice. I'm planning to take it at the end of August. So hopefully an hour a day till then will be good enough.
  20. I'm doing an honors and I'm currently just a sophomore. But yea it's definitely tough to get a good GPA. Does anyone know whether taking Honors courses would be good for grad school applications?
  21. What's the best way to study for the GRE? Books or online programs? I've heard mixed reviews.
  22. @ladyinwaiting23 I'm just curious what your GPA and experience was like? You got accepted into all the schools I plan to apply to next year, so I just wanted to get an idea. Thanks!
  23. I agree. I wish it wasn't so much about grades. Not all schools are the same level of difficulty and it isn't fair that grad schools to judge applicants based on GPA.
  24. Also for those of you that applied this year do you think GPA was the main thing that got you the offer/rejection? Thanks!
  25. I believe you need to have a bachelor's degree completed for that? Also what was the internship you said was closed? I'd like to know about internships in SLP for undergrads too.
