  1. That awkward moment when you check the results page and people have gotten accepted and you haven't any word at all yet . :sigh: Don't like the uncertainty - just put me out of my misery! Anyone heard from San Diego?
  2. ^ ditto. Always go with funding!
  3. First one, it was Valentines Day and I was spending it with Netflix. On a break I checked my email and saw it. A wonderful surprise. Second one (today), Just woke up, rolled over checked my email. I've been dancing all morning!
  4. Thank you everyone! I just got accepted into another school and the same thing has happened. I'm going to give them another week just in case and call back and get more information.
  5. A comfortable life that allows me the ability to travel the world
  6. Maybe you should call and ask if all decisions have been made ?
  7. Glad to see this post. I have a 5 year old Red Eared Slider turtle. He's a really smart turtle. He decorates his tank differently everyday by pushing the rocks and gravel around. Sometimes he arranges them by color, sometimes by size order, and other times he does different patterns like zig zags and circles. I don't know why he does it but its a trip every time to see! Also, he reacts differently to peoples faces. My parents took care of him while I was away for undergrad since I lived in a dorm all 4 years which means no pets allowed. I might bring him with me for grad school though to keep me company. OMG, I want a Spynx cat SO BADLY. No one understands them but I think theyre beautiful. It's going to be the first thing on my list once I'm settled down.
  8. 1. Learn how to drive (haha I'm 21 and still have no clue. But I'm going to put full responsibility on my city for that one.) 2. Get a job to earn income for the next few months 3. Go back to my Alma Mater one more time before my friends graduate and leave too 4. Vacation in Miami 5. Reconnect with Boxing 5a. Six/Four pack abs (in progress) 5b. Define legs more (check) 5c. Strengthen arms (in progress) 6. Take a free online class (check) 7. Sharpen cooking skills
  9. Only 7K for undergrad. Thank God for scholarships! But I'm looking about $60K in government loans for grad school since my program (Au.D) is barely funded. Makes me want to switch to PhD! But I am still grateful because I know people who owe that much in undergrad sadly.

  11. So far since I have made round one of cuts and have been invited to interviews they are EXTREMELY short: Interview #1 (in person- About 80 applicants for about 10 spots.) asked me about 5 questions, just mostly about myself and one technical question. And lasted about 10 minutes max. Interview #2 (via phone - About 55 applicants for about 10 spots.) asked me only 2 questions basically about why that particular university and if I had any other questions (nothing even relevant about my field). I ended up asking her about 5 questions back, and felt a little bad afterwards. Maybe I was too aggressive? I guess I feel some type of way because I feel like they don't really get to know me from such a brief and informal interview. I guess they are going to look over each application again or the interview just a formality, but I think it's odd to narrow down (again) so many people based on a short list of questions.
  12. Gym everyday. And playing Sims...lots of Sims.
  13. I'm in the same boat as you ! I just want to know already. I'm going to wait it out for another week or so
  14. Go with the money! So I would say Boston. But if not, CUNY in general is pretty cheap tuition wise. However, the cost of living is high in NYC. Depending on what borough your main building is in, you can get a cheaper apt in Queens/Brooklyn and commute everyday. But if you like fast pace action and lots of things to do all the time and a diverse population - it will all be worth it.

  16. Yess!! I wish I applied back to my Alma Mater and one or two more Kicking myself because I applied to schools all in the cold except for San Diego and thats so far fetched coming from NYC. I avoided the South at all costs, but now I wish I could have tried at least one school
  17. @iammaffyou- that would be a relief. I hope my department does decide the same
  18. It's the program for sure. Since its a clinical doctorate there is little funding to go around. So a few people get assistantships, it is RARE that someone gets fully/half funded so I'm guessing thats why their so tight lipped about it. Its like a lose lose situation. Accept with blind faith or wait it out and possibly still lose. This is only 1/6 schools so anything can happen. If you accept and put down a deposit to one place, is it possible to say no later (accepting the fact that you lost your deposit) and commit to somewhere else? I did that in undergrad late in the game when another school stepped up, but does that same process not hold up at this level?

  21. I mean, you did pay the application fee and the fees to send test scores and transcripts. And then all the stress and time it took to apply. To me, it breaks even. Let them fly you out and pay for your food. They'll be okay.
  22. Is this right? I've been accepted into one school so far (University at Buffalo), but their email was extremely vague. No date stated as a due date for commitment or no word on financial aid. It more or less said email us back if you accept or deny, and do so promptly. So I called up and asked a few questions, and the person on the phone had no information on any of this. However, she did state I NEEDED to say from now if I accepted or not, to recieve any kind of information on funding or any more information/instructions in general. Something about this seems odd to me. How am I supposed to make a choice when I do not have the options in front of me? At the rate at which these programs are giving notifications, it is WAY too early for me to accept or deny. What if I accept and another school offers me better funding? Or if I hold out on my choice I could miss opportunities I could have gotten if I replied earlier. Wouldn't I be screwed? I heard people in the past say you are not obligated to commit by a certain date...(Does anyone know this date for 2014?), but this seems to go directly against that.
