  1. I asked in September when applications were due in December. I met with each of them and gave them a list of all the schools I applied to, the due dates, an addressed envelope with stamps, my transcripts, resume and personal statement - all in a folder. When you give them things early and organized, they respond much better to it!
  2. She dropped a cover to Lucy in the sky with diamonds just the other day!
  3. Today one of the professors who interviewed me said, "I like your ethnic hair". I just said uh, thanks? lol. Just a super awkward moment all around. I know she meant no harm, but it took me by surprise. She could have simply said "I like your hair"
  4. Now on DuoLingo. Might as well learn a new language as I wait in agony!
  5. It is all personal preference for sure! Funny you say that, because I am the complete opposite! lol I much rather pay the difference to live ON campus in a grad dorm with a meal plan. I like the idea of rolling out of bed and going to class, not having to think about buying groceries, not worrying about making rent every month or repairs. The connivence is unmatched! I think I just got super spoiled to the undergraduate life since I dormed all 3.5 years and loved it. Even if only for the first year of grad school, I think the lack of stress from all those variables that can come up with having an off campus apartment is so valuable. So thats another way to look at it if you got the extra funds.
  6. I want to indulge in the cliche Green Beer festivities, and do the HIMYM Crawl tomorrow, yet my very important interview is Tuesday morning. This whole process is full of sacrifices that I do not enjoy!!

  7. You guys are awesome.
  8. Without a doubt, Beyonce.
  9. Watched the first 2 episodes of the House of Cards last night and it hasn't wowed me yet... I'm guessing it must pick up it everyone is recommending it.
  10. Yes, PLL!! and I have seen a ridiculous amount of the documentaries on Netflix, especially the ones in the Social and Cultural section. Probaly nearing the 80% mark! haha
  11. But, how do you live without? Either by choice or not, you have strong willpower lol
  12. Good to hear! Thanks everyone
  13. I was thinking about getting the Surface just because it's a pain to lug my Mac around everywhere. And it has all the important functions for note taking, and the USB port is so clutch. But I do plan on using my Mac at home, because I'm not sure if I could rely completely on a tablet alone to survive (first world problems much?). So my point is i guess - If you don't mind lugging stuff around: Laptop. If you do: Tablet
  14. Not sure if this post is a cry for help... or maybe because I just graduated and have a whole semester off to overindulge...or if i need reprieve from waiting for information on Au.D funding... I have been watching different series from start to finish on Netflix, and I need suggestions on what series to undertake next. What do you watch? Right now I am in the middle Revenge (can we say OMG?) and might start House of Cards tomorrow. And I have completed: OrangeITNB, Weeds, Dexter, HIMYM, Scandal, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead, PLL, Greys Anatomy, Law and Order and every TLC show
  15. Almost all the schools report a 100% job rate on their website. It makes me wonder, skeptical even, how many are jobs that quality jobs with good pay and benefits. But I'm sure there are other factors involved. But, yeah I totally agree! So far I am leaning towards A, despite my family's advice to go for B since I'm the one taking out all the loans. Like you said I'll figure it out hopefully byApril 15th. (Isn't it crazy we will know where we are going for sure in basically month, and this whole process will have come to an end?!)
  16. Still haven't grown tired of Ramen. I still am in love with it ! Spinach in all forms, mozzarella and Monterey jack cheese, Protien shakes, oatmeal and bagels.
  17. I was wondering what you guys thought how much does name/prestige matter in Audiology. I know it is a big deal for other fields, but not sure about Audiology. And my family has been stressing me about this. I'm trying to decide between: A. State school (CUNY/SUNY), instate tuition, little name. Could I be saving money but having a harder time with "good" employment opportunities because of small name? B. Private school (Rush), more money/debt, bigger name. Could I be wasting my money and sinking in debt to pay for a name? Thoughts anyone?
  18. Thanks for the info! I plan to so the AuD/PhD in the end so hopefully that will help.
  19. Yep same problem here! Can look into the PLUS loans, then if not private loans through your bank (yikes!), or outside scholarships. It makes me sad that AuD's have to struggle for funding, and PhD's are expected to get funding. But hey, it is what it is
  20. School sent important time sensitive info to wrong email...didnt see until today...responded late...might ruin chances...ah, kill me now.

    1. DeafAudi

      DeafAudi

Just explain what happened and I'm sure it'll be fine :).

  21. And the easiest way is to take the basic 101 version with no labs!
  22. It depends on the school. Some schools follows ASHAs guide, and others are more strict and want just chem/physics. And if they don't say it, they might look down on geology or similar classes as an easy way out. Just suffer through the chem/physics to be on the safe side!
  23. Wow everyone sounds so awesome! Loving the different stories, experiences and walks of lives. I can see why grad committees take so long to make a decision.
  24. Received first GA offer! Not great honestly considering the program costs, and I will turn down tomorrow. But, I hope bigger and better is on the horizon!
