  1. I get those...from Teach for America. To whom I have never applied to.
  2. I agree with twinguy re: contacting departments. If I had not done that, there would have been no way for UTD to know who I was or that I had the background that would allow them to take a chance on me!
  3. Likewise! I wanted to make sure that was normal.
  4. I hate getting emails and thinking that they are from grad schools, but they're just random spam!
  5. Congratulations! Have you received anything in the mail yet?
  6. My phone stopped remembering my Emerson portal details. I think it got tired of loading the same portal (with the same lack of decision) 7 times a day.
  7. Thank you! I think it's an in-state tuition waiver. There was no letter attached to my email from Dr. Stillman. I simply received an email saying that I was in w/the waiver. I'm thinking that I'm accepted, but they're still waiting on the registrar. I sent copies to both the Callier Center and registrar, so maybe Callier has processed them but not registrar? Anyway, I can finally sleep easier, knowing that I am accepted to my top choice!
  8. 3.1 GPA, 166/164/4 Q/V/A on GRE. I had a few extracurriculars like linguistics club president, 75 observation hours, and I spent a summer working with a child with autism. I also have training (including graduate courses) in sociolinguistics, so I wanted to work with some of the faculty who do work with sociolinguistics of SLP. I think this was what sealed my admission. I applied in early January, but the registrar and my transcripts were playing hide-and-seek, so they were only received this week.
  9. If you have willing recommenders and an essay ready, U of Rhode Island's deadline is tomorrow (3/1).
  10. For University of the Pacific, I completely forgot to complete the supplemental application (coursework checklist, short video). I only realized my error when it was too late. For Emerson, I accidentally applied twice. Once through CSDCAS and once through their application. Their application, which was NOT for their CDS program. I meant to call and clarify, but forgot to, until their admissions department emailed me to ask what was going on.
  11. This morning I got my offer of admission! 99% sure I'll attend (I can't think of a reason not to attend UTD barring significant acts of God). Who else? I got a scholarship offer with my email from Dr. Stillman. Not sure if more funding comes afterwards.
  12. I applied on 12/20 so this reminds me that I should give them a call.
  13. I'm interested in the sociolinguistics of SLP, so NYU is a good choice for me.
  14. Academics are taking up my free time lol. But I also have been: Hanging out with friends, cherishing our last moments in the same town. Watching Seinfeld. Running. Going to the gym, or more like trying to see what those machines do. Working on music. And of course, checking my email every 10 minutes.
  15. I completely agree. Also my undergrad can send secure electronic copies directly to the grad schools, which should assuage any fears of students tampering with transcripts.
  16. There is someone who said a few pages ago or on a different thread that they may waitlist us.
  17. There's a thread about this. They have sent out interview requests for their presumably prime candidates. For the rest of us, we are still unsure.
  18. If I had access to a time machine, I'd skip to April so I can see some admissions decisions!
  19. I have had a few colleges that accept pdf copies of transcripts. UTD doesn't. It's not "policy."
  20. Ah, so you sent them via snail mail. I did the same in January, but I will not bore you again with the details. Congratulations on the acceptance! you must feel so relieved.
  21. I called the admissions office and they said that they cannot accept transcripts unless they come from the registrar. I guess that the registrar has some highly trained transcript readers well versed in the art of scanning. The level of bureaucracy is ridiculous. How did it work for you? Have they given you an admissions decision?
  22. I called the UTD registrar, and they're currently processing documents received at the end of January. There is light at the end of the tunnel! Also, they cannot make an admissions decision without official copies of transcripts. So I am not sure what, if anything, emailing transcripts will do to expedite the application.
  23. Can you PM me the email address? I've contacted the admissions office but they haven't been answering the phones...they're probably swamped with calls.
