I didnt get to go to the interview I interviewed via Zoom. I dont think anyone asked about when they were going to get back to us. We didnt get a chance to ask questions at the end. From the results page, I believe they send out admissions decisions the last or second to last week of March. -

They might be waiting to hear back from those accepted? Not sure we were given til April 15th to submit our decision. Not sure how many rounds of interviews they did/plan to do. Just keep your fingers crossed & keep in touch with the department. Good luck! -

CSULB sent out their first round of acceptances (post-interview) last Friday and I believe CSU East Bay aims at sending acceptances in April and I believe they also interview for their program. -

I would advice you guys to call the department. I saw other people getting acceptances when I applied for the post-bacc and when i called they let me know I was on the waitlist and where I was ranked on the waitlist. About 2 weeks later, I got my acceptance. Hopefully you guys hear from them soon! -

For those who interviewed for SFSU last year, would you be able to shed any kind of insight to their interview process or provide any tips for someone who is preparing to interview for their program? Thanks in advance! -

I was a student at CSULB and all of these classes were standalone classes for undergrads. The program doesnt is a cohort program, so maybe contact the department and see if you can take the classes in the Fall semester and take graduate classes in the Spring? -
I'm in the Fall 2014 cohort & the advisor for MPP and the chair of the department came into our Audiology class to make the announcement. They said they were going to update the website soon but wanted to clarify that the Fall 2014 cohort would still go through next summer and the changes don't affect us. There are many several Post-Bacc options in California, but some may not be like CSULB where you go in as a cohort and take all the classes together. Some programs accept you as an extension student but you will be in classes with undergraduate students also, you just have to ask the department for each school what their program offers. California is extremely competitive & overly saturated with students out of the field taking interest in SLP. So when you are applying, make sure you apply early, send your transcripts early, and have several people proof-read your SOP (Statement of Purpose) or LOI (Letter of Intent) before sending it off. The applications will probably start in September or October. Good luck!

Going into SLP with a non-related major

Hi!! I just posted on the SLP Post-Bacc thread but it announced last night that CSULB will no longer their Master's Preparatory Program (Post-Bacc) program Fall 2015 and onward. Their Fall 2014 cohort will be their last. California is extremely competitive and overly saturated with prospective out-of-field SLP students so GPA is extremely important, especially for programs that don't require LORs. Also when applying to grad school, they look at your GPA & GRE scores in addition to essays & possible interviews. -
Just in case any prospective Post-Bacc students stumble upon this thread inquiring about next fall, it was announced yesterday that CSULB will NO LONGER offer their Master's Preparatory Program in Communicative Disorders. Fall 2014 is their last cohort. However, they are planning to expand their Traditional and Special Cohort Graduate programs.

Yep!!! I just sent my email saying that I'll be accepting their invitation but I won't be able to attend the orientation. I'm really excited!

Ellysand, Have you heard back from CSULB yet??
-
For those that are going to CSULA or live in LA, what areas/neighborhoods are good to live in around the school? I'll be moving from San Diego in August/September. Any kind of advice/input would be awesome!

For anyone that hasn't heard from CSULB, I called them today and they offered 47 spots for their MPP & the deadline to accept their spots is today. Theres 12 people on their wait list & if your admission status says that your application was sent to the department, it means that you're on the wait list. They will contact those off the wait lists if spots open up by the end of next week. I'm #5. Sigh. Congrats to those that were accepted and good luck to fellow wait listers!

Did you guys use this website to check you admission status? https://my.cms.csulb.edu/psp/pa91prd/EMPLOYEE/SA/c/LB_HR_CUSTOM.LB_APS_SS.GBL I tried looking up my admission status & the website sent me an email saying that my application was sent to the department, but does not specify if it was denied. I checked my email and I made sure I emailed the department stating to continue to consider my application. I tried calling the office several times during the day, but it goes to the answering machine.
