  1. How many times has everyone tried here? This is my first time but I spent three years preparing my application.. I am scared if I don't get in I will be too bitter to reapply! Any success stories here?!
  2. 3.9 subGPAs?? Oh gosh I don't stand a chance haha ! I have over two hundred hours of volunteer experience but I don't think that will save my 3.75.
  3. yes I applied to SLP at UofT as well! ? again in terms of location u of t is one of the closest for me just for slp.but for teachers college I made the mistake of just applying to oise. But after I figured I didn't get I I started looking into more. I guess the actual difference is id just have to do a BEd and then masters (which for uoit is actually all online anyways) . did you hear from oise yet ? Congrats on queens !!
  4. Okay I am going to check regularly, thank you so much and congratulations! I have a question for everyone, just because if I dont get in I will probably try again..Is anyone concerned with job prospects? Have they heard that it is changing at all? My aunt is a secretary for one of the schoolboards and shes told me horror stories about teachers being on the supply list for 7 years. Also what age is everyone here? I spent lots of time in my undergrad doing prerequisite courses for a grad school program (Speech Language Pathology) and so it took me a bit longer than expected, I am 24. I am just thinking if I dont get in this year, I will finish by the time I am 27.. then atleast 3 years minimum on supply list if you're lucky..I just want to make sure it is worth me trying again! I'd love to hear some input/success stories.
  5. The liaison confirmed this with me, so first round offers are already out but they are going to continue to make offers she said....I am holding on to my last shred of hope haha. If you got invited on ROSI where would it show up?
  6. I agree we should all definately post our acceptances and rejections. Also, if anyone wants to also mention their subGPA and volunteer experience so we know what successful applicants look like. I am definitely in your "oh god why did i even apply.." stage I only applied to one school to boot!
  7. Has anyone heard about MT yet? I havent heard anything or have anything on my ROSI
  8. I have a quick question...did everyone here do honours? I did a regular B.A. because I thought I could still apply...but I may go back to do my honours now, as it may be preferable.
  9. congratulations !! Yea my first two years were in the B range but my last two were A/A+.. I thought the MT looked at last year only though... After reading this forum I am wondering is the MT not really considered masters anymore ??
  10. hello, my last year was A/A+ range. I had employed experience at a private school, summer camp, and before and after school program(all 3 years ago mind you) I had volunteer experience at a ASD center and have done paid emergency lunch duty a couple of.times for the Ycdsb. Majority of my recent volunteer work was in Speech Language Pathology however. I noticed during my interview they mentioned it alot and I think that was my downfall. I made the program seem like a "backup" to speech language pathology which they also asked if I applied to. I still hope to hear from MT though!! It definitely was not a backup plan... I spoke to the liaison for the MT too and she said they are mailing out official offers next week. What is your application like ? It seems really competitive this year !!
  11. I just checked with the liaison and she had stated that I did not get into MA child study and Education, congrats to all that did though! Did people receive their acceptances to MT or MA child study and education programs seperately?
  12. I received an interview for the MA child study and education but unfortunately have not heard anything afterward. I also applied to the MT program and did not hear anything either. Doesn't look too good for me right now!
  13. If anyone has gotten in please post! the wait is driving me crazy
  14. My Gpa for the last year is in the A/A+ range Experience is paid employement for summer camps, before and after school program, and private school. I also dabbled in some volunteer work for Speech Language Pathology and an ASD center. What schools are you applying to/have you applied to? I only applied to OISE... which is why I am so nervous. I applied to both the MT and the MA but I am really hoping for the MA. I had my interview at the beginning of February and haven't heard anything yet (though they have given some acceptances) so I am quite nervous. However, the atmosphere there was phenomenal. I thought my interview went well, but it was more so an open discussion. One thing I regret is not making it a point that this program is in no way a backup to Speech Language Pathology (which I also applied to and they are aware of)
  15. I did I had my interview February 6th, so I am getting a bit worried. But either way congratulations! Me and your friend will be anxiously waiting haha..I do not know if they will do any more over the weekend.
  16. Congrats!! Now I am officially nervous haha, was it through the telephone?
  17. Don't worry. there is still hope! In looking at past threads some people had interviews near the end of February
  18. It looks like they are doing the interviews earlier this year then past threads, I wonder if results will come near the end of February/beginning of March
  19. I know.. but by the looks of it you have applied to lots of schools, especially western I hear is very much into the volunteer experiences! I am sure we will be fine...but we will have to wait a while to find out hahaha!
  20. In case anyone is worrying about the interview process, I just had my interview and though I am not sure how well I did the way it was set up was outstanding to me. It feels more like a discussion then a conversation. Students in the program are at the front ready for you to as questions or even give pointers or make you feel less anxious. It really made a great impression on the program!
  21. If it makes you feel better my 85-89's are all counted as 3.8. The system is really screwed!
  22. My subGPA was what I thought it'd be..but for those wondering summer courses you take are not taken on their own.. if they have to be included they will take your previous fall and winter term with your summer term. Just in case anyone needs to know this for future reference!
  23. I also received an interview for this Saturday. I have NO idea what to expect, does anybody know?!
  24. Oh gosh the wait is already getting to me!
  25. Exactly! It is really disheartening
