      Omg, this was the worst idea I've ever had. I finished "Coven" and I wish to God I could rewind time. I can't watch "Freak Show" because clowns give me severe, severe anxiety. Omg, what have I done? I can't sleep! LOL!

    Everyone, I really need your help. I'm clinically depressed and diagnosed with severe panic, and I'm starting to freak out. I only heard back from Columbia, which was a flat-out rejection. But why have I not yet heard from the remaining 6 schools??

    I'm feeling a bit queasy. I got rejected from Columbia yesterday. I applied to 7 schools, but I still have yet to hear back from the remaining 6. Is that a bad sign? Omg, I have that feeling I get when I eat too much cheese.

    I tried Magoosh and Manhattan Prep, but my GRE scores were still quite low, and I devoted over 40 hours a week to studying. Verbal: 153 Quantiative: 146 AW: 5/5 I definitely want to get higher scores for my Fall 2016 applications. Has anyone tried EmpowerGRE before?

    My first deadline was yesterday, and my two professors still have not sent the damn letters. I emailed, called, implored. One of them responded with a, "Oh yes! I'll upload it shortly." Still waiting. My next deadline is today by 5:00, and LATE LETTERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. This is my first choice school, by the way and I feel like flipping over a table. I am beyond furious, and I'm planning to write a letter of complaint to the dean of my school. This is completely unprofessional. They screwed up my entire future! Is it best to just give up on my PhD applications this year and go into a different business?

      Don't feel bad - it's part of his job. :) As long as you say thank you when it is submitted, you're fine.

      Some of my LOR writers wait until last min but they always get it in by the due date. If he knows that it is due today and you reminded him recently enough that you know he remembers then I don't think reminding again will help anything.

      Doesn't make any difference unless it's rolling admissions, then you run the risk of all the spots being filled.

      CNN probably thinks it's rude of students to turn things in right before the deadline, strictly because they ignore the "I have other shit to do" principle.

      submitted two of my apps literally hours before the deadline (dec 1) and received interview invitations a week later; so i guess CNN was saying BS :P
