  3. aww thanks for the supporting words!

so you are going to CGU? i LOVE their campus. really hot during the summers, but beautiful school all around. :)

  4. i JUST got off the wait list!!! i had been waiting since January! the official paperwork will STILL be sent via snail mail, but the director emailed me after they made the decision this afternoon. OH MY GAAWDD. i am just OVER THE MOOON about this. i will be the first in my family to get a PhD. <3 so, for those of you still waiting, REALLY hope favorable decisions come your way. getting off that wait list is such an amazing feeling. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
  5. i JUST got off the wait list! when i got the email, which was a personal email from the director, i was about to take a bite of my super chicken burrito, and eat the anxiety away...for a lil while. once i read it, i couldnt speak, and i lost my appetite! ive been waiting since january, so this moment was just SO wonderful!
  6. i noticed you are interested in working on college access and success issues from another post you wrote. im a current HGSE student, and i focused all of my work around these issues here. id love to connect and answer any questions you may have about HGSE! :D

  7. haha thats a good point! never thought about the temporary stress of the afternoons. because you are right. once i see there is nothing in the mail today, its business as usual until the next day around mail time. but either way, i wanna know already!
  8. Vitaminark, Thank you for posting this. It was a refreshing read.
  9. I would call the office and ask someone :/ Good luck!
  10. Im still in the waiting boat....unlike many of you who know that you will receive your decision via email, mine will come the old fashioned way! I actually think snail mail is worse.........so nervous! But after reading the good news posts around here, I still have hope...... I have yet to get home and check the mail today :/
  11. i guess the best you can do is be patient and wait for your fin aid package. if it's not enough, there's no rule that you can't further discuss with the fin aid dept about the hardship you would face. never hurts to ask. best of luck!
  12. i asked myself the same question when i decided to come here, and it is TOTALLY worth it. there are way too many opportunities (both academic and career-wise) to NOT come and take advantage of that acceptance letter. i had to take out some loans, but they were all federal...not private, which is a much better option. i considered PSP but i decided on TIE instead, but anyways.....this place is AWESOME. i am already sad that my time ends here in May! anywho...i say come. its a great place.
  13. The first rejection letter I received...I felt meh. It didn't quite hit me. When the 2ND one came, then it hit me pretty hard. I had JUST gotten home from a long shift on a Saturday. What a crappy weekend that ended up being. Still waiting for one more admission decision......let's hope it has good news. If it is another rejection letter, I might lose it....for a lil bit. :/ Then try again. <3
  14. I have been "waiting" since late January. I immediately sent a follow up letter detailing what I had done since I applied back in December. Now, I am even more anxious since I know that their potential answer will be revealed soon. I thought about following up again, but it is a thin line between looking determined and turning out to be annoying when they have so many other things to focus on. As much as I hate to say it and as much as you may not like to do it anymore, the best we can do is wait. Just know you aren't alone!
  15. ....is patiently waiting. <3

  16. hey everyone. im currently a HGSE student and just wanted to say that i too was a bag of nerves a year ago. congratulations to all who got in. this is truly a wonderful place and the atmosphere is AWESOME. to any future TIE'ers out there, you picked the BEST program! hehe
  17. im still in shock too. its surreal. i think it will hit me this Sunday night at the reception. on the note of being admitted, anyone know the total number of applicants to HGSE and/or the admittance rate? Now that I have been admitted, ive been searching for these stats but i cant find them anywhere...i didnt want to see them before because i was sure it would discourage me. at any rate, if anyone knows where i can find some legit stats, post it. thank you! can't wait till sunday night!!!!
  18. yay! got the message, so im in for the 2010-2011 TIE program! anyone else going to the Los Angeles admitted students reception this Sunday? if so, see you there!
  19. i am still waiting for my W2s However, i just tend to not look at the calendar...which can prove to be pretty bad when i am making appointments.
