haha because it's completely normal to be paranoid when you have so much on the line. And most professors in the past have said that it would be unethical to write a bad letter of rec and they would instead decline to write one if asked by someone they were unsure about.

That's pretty much the same mentality I have! All I need is one acceptance!! *fingers crossed*

Don't feel bad. I'm not a great test taker either, but I'm still holding out hope! I cannot even fathom having to apply another year b/c it is super stressful and time consuming. Good luck to you all!

I applied to NYU and have yet to hear from them besides the email confirmation that my application was submitted. It doesn't even look like there is an area on the site for us to check application status.

Just search for it in your App Store on your phone. It basically just shows the list of schools that people on grad cafe have submitted regarding acceptances, rejections, etc. You can either search by speech or put in your school name plus speech :-)

This waiting around is basically killing me! I think every email/random phone call I get is from a school, but it never is! The next month is going to be the longest of my life.

OMG! They quiz you on anatomy and other speech topics??? I did very well in my post-bacc classes, but I get extremely nervous in situations like these. Even thinking about it gives me anxiety! lol

I wouldn't be too worried yet! I know of some people that were accepted without getting interviewed for the same program that others had to do interviews for. This is just speculation on my part, but I would assume that the people getting selected for interviews are in the "maybe pile," and the universities will accept those they are impressed by. Keep your head up!

Have you guys all downloaded the grad cafe paranoid app? It's great and I check it daily to see which slp programs are starting to send out admissions decisions.

This will be my first year applying to grad programs, but I'm seriously stressing about not getting in anywhere!! I think I've heard one too many horror stories regarding rejections and I'm becoming completely paranoid! haha For those of you that are second-time applicants, would you mind sharing your stats? Did any of you complete a post-bacc to fulfill the prereq courses or no?

I don't think I can take another 1-2 months of waiting!! Anyone out there apply to Western Washington or UConn?

The professors I asked to write my LOR don't know me that well either. However, they each asked for a statement of intent and a resume so I'm hoping that will aid them in the process. My biggest annoyance with the whole thing was that some professors are unorganized and will agree to write one for you, but drag their feet when you remind them.

@arabicabeans...I am way too paranoid to apply to only one school. My GRE scores are not competitive at all...145Q and 155V so I'm hoping my 3.94 GPA in CSD courses makes up for it. Fingers crossed!
