  1. First acceptance in my inbox! Oh my, I am going to grad school!!!

  2. Would it be pretentious to include my (highly profile, saught after) professional credentials in my school email signature?

  3. Do you ever learn something new and think, "Wow, I learned this embarrassingly late in life...."?

I didn't learn that the planets in our solar system are in fact, not in a straight line in space until I was maybe 12 or 13. But yeah, this happens often.

  4. As much as I love living alone...my wallet is screaming "You need a roommate." Raleighites, come to me.

Agreed, VulpesZerda. I even considered living at home (I shudder at the thought) because it's so expensive on the tiny, tiny stipend I get. And everyone in Raleigh keeps posting on the facebook housing forum for undergrad subleases. I need serious grad students! But whenever I reach out, I get anxious and decide I don't want roomies anymore.

This is me, except more like "When life gets difficult, buy all new home decor." But I have lots of shoes too.

  6. I'm going to accept the offer from my first-choice school! I'm so excited to be going to grad school!

  7. My friend is moving out of state with her boyfriend in 2 weeks, she wants to hang out before she goes... I really don't think I feel like talking to her or seeing her. What am I supposed to tell her?

Completely and totally understandable. I would personally say something such as, "I don't think it would be a good idea because I don't want you to be distracted from your move." Or like I said, sometimes just telling the truth can give an eye-opening experience and maybe she'll realize that if she wants to keep her relationships, she has to cool it with talking about the same things all the time. It gets boring, definitely. Sending good vibes your way that it works out.

The truth, I think. Are you not inclined to hang out with her because you have grown apart, or you don't feel like it because you know the whole time she will be talking about the move/her boyfriend?

  9. I want to go HOME! And by home, I mean back to a university campus. Six months can't go by fast enough for this professor's daughter.

I'm so glad to not be alone in this. Months seem to be dragging!
