  1. My goal is Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Durham/Raleigh, Columbia (SC). I prefer racially diverse southern cities
  2. @haltheincandescentI thought it was normal for stores (at least grocery stores/supper markets) not to sell alcohol on Sundays. I like it that way (but don't have strong feelings on it), but I'm also not a "drinker". I can count on 2 hands how many drinks I've had in my life (ok, maybe 3 hands :p).
  3. @piglet33 I tried that Cabernet and had an immediate visceral reaction. Subsequent reds I've tried have been the same--reactionary puking feeling. Reds aren't sweet enough for me, I stick to white moscatos. I think I have an "allergy" (or whatever the proper term is) to red wines. However, I do like Roscato. Red, sweet, doesn't make me feel like I'm going to die. Fave white is Butterfly Kiss' moscato, I want to try Moscati d'asti next. I've watched everything on Netflix. Literally. I have nothing to occupy myself with anymore.
  4. Just had a phone interview, POI said I gave a strong one! And the waiting continues.....
  5. Don't your 8 days reset at the beginning of the new year? Not having the best relationship with a supervisor is challenging (been there). I would treat it as any request off. Tell her you have interviews on these days for graduate school and they're mandatory/crucial to you being accepted. Unpaid days off are not ideal, but you may need to just do it. I think grad school interviews are worth it. Hopefully that won't be too much of a financial setback for you. You also have to decide what you're going to do if you don't get those days off. Good luck!
  6. Try emailing the DCT and explain the situation as well. I wonder why she didn't send a follow up or try to call you when you didn't rely to the first email. Hope it works out!
  7. You were accepted into a competitive nursing program---did you end up attending? I couldn't tell from your post. Psychiatric nursing (a master's degree) is an option too.
  8. I wish "hearing back" meant finding out whether I was accepted. Instead, I still have to do in person interviews! I heard back about 1 interview before the holidays and about a prelim phone interview late last night. A few programs I applied to notified applicants this time last week, so I'm nervous but excited. I've waited long enough haha. I had all my apps submitted in late October, mainly because I couldn't submit any supplemental materials (including recommendations) until apps were submitted. Didn't want to risk it, I worked on my SOP over the summer. Apps were officially complete by mid November.
  9. I though the holiday break would be a good time to relax and get my mind off of applications, but people have been notified of interviews and acceptances almost every day since Christmas Eve! Including 2 schools I applied to, but I am holding out hope that I will hear something positive in the coming weeks Tomorrow most universities are officially open again, which means more incessant email checking... good luck to everyone!
  10. Every school/program operates differently, and they don't publish specific timeline data for notifications. Some invites don't even come from POIs, but from program/clinical training directors and even department secretaries. I know what it's like to see people get invites from a school I applied to, yet I've heard nothing. Can't do much about it although it's agonizing.
  11. Would the person who received an email from UF's counseling program PM me? I have a couple questions to ask! TIA
  12. I can't plan for a Plan B when trying to achieve Plan A (getting accepted this cycle) is such a long and intense process. I need all my energy, including my anxiety/nerves, to be channeled to this.
  13. Still no email from UAB, status still says "under review". I think it's reasonable to assume rejection (or waitlist, to cling to a tiny but if hope) if they don't send emails to the rest of us by the end of the business day. Wouldn't make sense to notify some of an interview now and others after break, not much time to arrange travel.
  14. @TickFckTockYou received an email from UAB to check your status? I haven't received that either, but I did think to check and mine also says still under program review.
  15. Congrats! Hoping they're still sending invites.
  16. For UAB's medical/clinical program, were the emails personalized (content wise) or generic?
  17. Did school #2 indicate that the Friday dinner was required? I received an interview for one school and they made sure to stress that the dinner with graduate students the night before is completely optional. Not the best choice, but I would try to push it. I'm sure I would be stressed and tired, but to me it's preferable to attend both than to do a Skype interview (although schools say it doesn't matter, I'm sure it does). @TakeruKIn psychology, usually there are one or two visiting days that schools host. Arranging an individual visit would not be the same experience as attending the interview day.
  18. I applied to the counseling program and received an interview from them this past week. I also received that "your application is complete" email today. It's just computer-generated. My application was complete since the middle of November, but I didn't get an email until this morning.
  19. @highborn Schools only invite about 20-25 people to interview. If you weren't invited to interview, you're rejected. It doesn't really have anything to do with not meeting minimum qualifications. You just weren't chosen. If you started the app but didn't finish, you don't get anything because the department didn't even get your application. They only receive it when it's done. *Some* schools put a smaller number of people on a "waitlist" without them having interviewed, but that's more rare.
  20. I hope you get an invite That's awesome about Princeton! I've heard back from one place so far, they didn't offer reimbursement nor the opportunity to stay with a current student. Luckily I know a few people at the university so I can stay with them.
  21. That's such short notice! Plane tickets will be so expensive.
  22. Ah ok. I remember seeing a UCLA post on the thread, but I just looked at it was for Developmental. Lots of universities are having their last day today, so we may have to sit tight until 1/4
  23. Which program @Tahlain? Have you tried searching the results thread for "UCLA", "Los Angeles" or the full name + "(whatever) psychology"?
  24. After receiving an email from a program the other day saying my application was forwarded to faculty for review, I received an email today that says they're closed from today until the 4th ( ._.)
  25. Thank you for starting this. I REALLY despise when people post in the results just to ask a question. @SyedahumHave you contacted them? That's the best place to get correct information. Call or email and say something like "I'd like to confirm these deadlines".
