  1. I remember all too well the impulse to check every 30 seconds! I did end up going to King's! It's been a pretty good experience so far. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions about the program!
  2. @Aspiringmsw2320 @MSWapplicant2018 I applied to the 2-year programs at Western and Laurier last year. I was waitlisted on March 8th at King's, accepted off the waitlist on March 9th, so hopefully they have similar timelines this year. I want to say that my Laurier acceptance came later, like late March/early April. Hang in there, I know the waiting is the absolute worst! Good luck!!
  3. Does anyone know any specifics about Laurier's part-time 3-year MSW? Looking for some information about the feasibility of working full-time shift work while completing the 3-year and the likelihood of getting a practicum outside of Kitchener/Waterloo. Thanks!
  4. Go under admissions then click on the link where you uploaded all of your documents for your application. All my documents I uploaded are gone and there's my offer letter there instead now. Hope that helps!
  5. Yeah for the 2-year program. I JUST got the email like 3 minutes ago and it's changed on LORIS. I've already accepted Western's offer though so I'll be declining Laurier's as a lot has changed for me since applications and I can no longer relocate to Kitchener from London.
  6. I'll be attending Western's 2-year MSW this September. My GPA in my last two years was around an 81-82%. I have about 2200 hours as a director at a residential summer camp for kids, supervising both kids and staff. I worked in a youth detention centre for about 2300 hours and have around 500 hours working in group homes supporting people with developmental disabilities. And when we had to submit applications, I had around 1000 hours working in residential care for children with complex mental health and/or developmental disabilities and their families. I had very little research experience outside from the required research courses for my undergrad (I didn't do a thesis in my fourth year of undergrad and I only volunteered in a university lab for about 50 hours). I've applied to Laurier and U of T in the past. Laurier straight out of my undergrad with virtually no experience other than the supervisory position at camp and U of T the year after with not much more experience. I was rejected at Laurie and waitlisted at U of T. Hope this helps!
  7. That's what I thought initially too, but there was an open application this round and it's displayed on my LORIS
  8. Not yet I was reading the 2016 thread and it looks like the first round of acceptances for Laurier went out on March 31st last year. Did anyone apply to the part-time program at Laurier? I'm curious if the part-time is as competitive as (or more competitive than) the full-time 2-year program.
  9. My status just changed online! I've been accepted to Western's 2-year MSW!! Which means the wait list is moving!
  10. Keep in mind that King's is a really small college at Western. I imagine that the class size would be pretty small (therefore only a small number of people being accepted), so try not to be too discouraged! Each school looks for different things in their applicants, there's still hope! It's my third round of applying and I have yet to get an acceptance so I know it's hard not to let the disappointment take over, but each year I don't get in has just been more motivation to continue doing great work while gaining valuable experience to make my application stronger for the next year.
  11. Having some sort of an answer is comforting for sure! It didn't give a date it just said "should a position become available we will contact you immediately." I hope you hear soon and it's good news!
  12. I just got an email from Western saying I'd been put on the wait list for the 2-year MSW.
  13. Mine still says "applied" too. I'm also really curious. My average over the final two years was about 82% and I have 3700 hours of direct experience in the field, and another 2200 in not directly related but still fairly applicable positions that I'm hoping they consider as well. The anticipation is killing me!
