Got into North Carolina State!!!! WOOOOOO

I got into WVU's MA program! I woke to a lovely voicemail from the director of the program! I am so excited!

This post might have been better put on the Venting thread. I am sorry for your experience thus far, and I agree that it is always good to keep perspective when a rejection comes in if you do have other offers or waitlists. That being said, people, even people who have acceptances, are allowed to feel disappointed when they are rejected and express that disappointment. It might be a school they thought they would fit in best at, or the school that would enable them to stay close to loved ones. It's a matter of being human, not being ungrateful. I personally plan to wail like an infant when Columbia rejects me, because I really see myself in that program and many of the people I love most in the world have moved to Manhattan or Brooklyn. (Though I will likely limit my wailing to the real world with only chihuahuas as audience.)
I really do hope you have an acceptance on the horizon, and that things turn around for you this season.
 

I GOT INTO BROWN!!!!!! I am speechless. Massive congrats to everyone who's gotten good news over the past few days while I wasn't checking this thread as closely. Y'all rock.

I told myself that I was going to sleep in today to avoid the anxiety of waiting for Miami's portal to update (at 10:40am), but I woke up at 8:00am. Finally updated and I'm accepted!

Hi all, I'm a lurker but was accepted off of the waitlist at UMN for Comparative Studies in Discourse and Society today!!! I switched from Cultural Studies to History and Philosophy of Science (doing an HPS MA right now), but applied to UMN because the vibe of the program and people who work there have always been really attractive to me, so I figured I'd apply to one Cultural Studies program this time around. I truly didn't think I'd be accepted -- congrats to the other admits as well! 

In a two minute span, I received an acceptance from Tulsa and a waitlist notification from Washington University in St. Louis! I'm really hoping for entry off the list at WUSTL. That would make my decisions much easier I believe.

Just got an acceptance to Texas Tech even though I was sure they were done notifying!!

I just got my first acceptance! Virginia Tech's Rhetoric & Writing PhD!
 

I just randomly checked the Temple application portal and saw "University Acceptance" I am so pleasantly surprised as they seemed to have sent out acceptances two weeks ago!! So pleased but I also just can't believe all this good news is real!! 

GUYS. Just got a call from USC. My first acceptance. Glad I let it go to voicemail because I would have cried :')

First of all, what's with all the Sunday notifications? Second of all, HUSBAND JUST GOT WAITLISTED AT BOSTON COLLEGE WHAAAAATTT? This is SUPER unexpected but amazing!

Got into NYU!! 

Got an email an hour ago with my first acceptance—University of Oregon!!! I have been feeling down because I got three rejections in quick succession and started to wonder if I wasn’t cut out for a PhD program, so getting this email made me immediately burst into tears! 
I have 6 more programs to hear back from, but having an acceptance to an awesome school definitely eases my anxiety!

HUZZAH! Got the email tonight -- accepted to Saint Louis University (MA English).

Ahhh! I just got the Vanderbilt acceptance email!!! I thought, since it was an email notification, all the acceptances went out at once. I have to change my signature!

I just got accepted to Texas Tech! Their visit day is the same as UT- Austin, though. 

Holy crap I missed a lot of good news!! Let's see if I can do this...

Okay, I'll own up to a vandy acceptance.
I've got to admit that I typed in "v" and picked the first thing I saw for vanderbilt because i was blinded by glee. 

the email didnt say anything about waitlists and was an unofficial letter from the dept. it says, about formal letters: 'I anticipate that the letters will be generated next week' and 'If you haven't received an email notification by Friday (this stage of the process is somewhat unpredictable), you can check your online application file.'
i except, then, waitlisters will know soon!

I was literally typing up my u chicago rejection on the results board for posterity, when I got an email offer from Indiana Bloomington! 

GOT THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE CALL AS WELL! (at 2:15 this afternoon).
Super nice phone call, great funding package, said they were very impressed with my application and writing sample.
Research Track I am pursuing if attending: Race and Ethnicity.
So thrilled! One of my top 5 choices!

I know I haven't been on here until recently but just thought I would put it out there that my partner got accepted to University of Denver! And I heard back from my POI's yesterday that I am unofficially in! It's such a relief to know we have at least both gotten into one of our school's together.

HE'S IN AT DELAWARE! The call from the DGS was super nice. They said he gets to shadow a class in his first year then it's 2-1 teaching (and something about him possibly getting to teach a material culture course?). Stipend is $20k guaranteed for six years with a $4k "top-off" that he could get each year (but that isn't 100% guaranteed). SO EXCITED OMG
