I'm applying this year to both Communication and Marketing programs, I'm still working with my tentative list but at least 3 UC campuses are on the list (SB, Davis and San Diego).

Out of topic, but is there a listing of the ranking of the Canadian communication programs? out of curiosity I was looking at some of the programs that I found with phd in communication in Canada, but I don't really know a lot of the universities, I'm kind of just familiar with McGill, Toronto Uni and UBC.....

When I applied for the master's degree I applied to 5 universities and non of them asked me for an interview, I just received the acceptance email.... but I applied to British universities so it could be different in the US. However, I did have one interview and was for an university in Mexico which was odd since I didn't expect that one to have more pre-requisites than universities abroad.

While we are all waiting the results can I ask you all something? Since I think you have more experience about this, I'm an international applicant so I don't know much about what they ask when they do interviews for master's or Phd admissions, so I'd like to ask you all what do they usually look for with the interviews or what should I expect from an interview if they ask me for one? (I'm being optimistic since I still don't have any news about my application lol)

Also some programs still wait for all the transcripts and report results to arrive till almost December 20, at least the UC does..

Hi! I'm not really sure about this... maybe you could write about your experience while studying your MA and explain how the next step of your academic career is the phd but that for that you need funding, maybe write about your achievements and skills, and how you would be a perfect fit for the program?... I hope I was able to help, first time i heard about a letter like that.
