  1. Oh wait, I'm not sure about the other campuses, but I know for sure that New Brunswick had theirs on that date! And no problem
  2. Rutgers social had their interview on the 19th!
  3. Some benefits of Rutgers that are worth noting: Funding: FULL tuition remission with a generous stipend compared to other programs Research-oriented: the cognitive, like the other psych programs, are heavily-focused on research. Lots of faculty are funded by the NIH, NSF, etc. Interdisciplinary: opportunity to work with and in the Center for Cognitive Science, Interdisciplinary Studies in Perceptual Science, etcetc. Reiterating what anxiousapplicant01 said, it is a good program and if you find good research fit, definitely apply.
  4. Hi good friends! How is everyone doing? I feel like this thread has been a little slow! Are you guys still waiting on many schools?
  5. Woohoo! Congrats to your SO! Boston is such a beautiful city!
  6. If you haven't already, I highly recommend looking into Magoosh for GRE prep (lol not sponsored! It has just personally helped me a ton!!) Though it is all online, it is an incredibly interactive and useful resource! All materials are divided into videos (which you can watch at your own pace), all practice questions (I think they have enough questions for 11 full practice tests or something like that) are accompanied with a written explanation AND a video explanation, and on top of that, they have staff you can message to answer any additional questions about the material (say, if you still don't get a concept)! Good luck and keep up the faith: "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end."
  7. Haha, the signature makes me feel so Grad Cafe. And it is in Mid-February!
  8. Thanks so much for your input! Yeah, I saw the UCSC one as well and that's what sparked my inquiry! I also saw for UCLA that they didn't do interviews for a particular year (even with interview dates posted online) so I'm thinking... how do we know for sure?? And that's so exciting for your SO! Sounds like it is lowkey an interview, but maybe it's just an opportunity for your SO to ask questions about the lab and program! Please keep us posted
  9. Does anyone know if some schools skip the interview? Is that super uncommon for our programs? This wait is killing me and I'm trying to pass the time by overthinking
  10. That's wonderful-- even through the screen, I can feel your passion for sociology! As for me, I'm currently finishing up my BA in psychology (graduating in May). Also, a relevant question for all the cog psych peeps: Are you also finishing up undergrad, applying with a masters, been working, etcetc? Is this your first go at applications?
  11. To the peeps who got interviews from UChicago, could you please send me your POI? Thanks very much and congrats on the interview!
  12. @FeelTheBern I still think that it is super neat that you're on GC for your significant other! I'm curious-- what's your discipline? Cog psych as well?
  13. I'm curious-- what would be the incentive to hold back? @Timemachines @Centre2012 @Austyn Still, waitlist is still better than a straight up rejection! Hope it works out for you guys
