  1. Congrats!! Like your letter explains, funding comes in a separate letter/email. It took approximately another week or less for the school to forward that information. I'm sure it won't be too long now. Is it likely you will be attending?
  2. To be honest, your guess might be right! On my admit page, there are new slots requesting my official transcripts with an "x." Good luck!
  3. haru_ko, that's awesome! Also applied Sciences Po but haven't heard yet! When did you apply and hear back from them? Why are you leaning more towards Sciences Po? I've head that Berlin is actually quite international/cosmopolitan so there are lots of different kinds of cuisines one could have for dinner. A ramen place! Ahh I was starting to worry I will be doomed without access to Japanese food next year On another note, I've been contacting current Hertie students and a good few of them are not fluent in German and are international (US students). From what they have said it seems like administration is really great about forwarding opportunities to its students and at the end of the day it's up to you to apply and make the effort. But the school does its part in really providing the opportunities. They seem satisfied and have mentioned it is not a struggle to find these internships and jobs.
  4. Ahh seems like we have a lot of similar concerns and draws to the program! I'm curious as to how our decisions unfold, will keep you posted Thank you for sharing your impressions of the school, as I am not currently living in Europe, it's definitely difficult to get a good idea of what the campuses are each like! No, I studied undergraduate school in the U.S. (I'm American) but teaching English in Japan on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program funded by the government! It's been a wonderful 6 months so far and my Japanese is really getting good! High five, have you grown up learning the language and culture? Would be nice to have a Japanese speaking friend at grad school
  5. Hi haru_ko! Congrats that's wonderful!! Wow you visited the school? What was it like and what did you think?! Won't be able to do that unfortunately because i'm too far away at the moment. Looks like the program is quite competitive and only a few people get selected like 4-5, looked into it myself... What other schools are you considering? Thought Hertie is quite affordable actually (compared to US)! Are you Japanese btw (your username!)? I'm half and living in Japan at the moment
  6. Excited to say I've just been admitted to the Masters in Higher Ed Administration today!!! Received an e-mail instructing me to check the online portal for the results. For those of you who have also applied to the same program, I was accepted with no interview. SO don't sweat it Does anyone know when we will hear about financial aid? Or rather does the Teachers College typically give aid?
  7. Thanks, greyvetiver! I've sent an email to the study abroad office to see what the requirements are exactly/logistics. I'm thrilled to have been accepted to Hertie but I'm still trying to figure out what would be best for me. There are some other programs that I'm hoping to get into and still waiting to hear back (should be hearing back shortly). But the more I hear about Hertie the more I'm liking what I hear
  8. That's fantastic! Are some of the folks you've spoken to American/Asian/outside of Europe? I'm a tad big concerned about job prospects after graduation as an American and also how my non-existenant knowledge of German might affect my chances of getting an internship in Berlin. However what you're saying seems to be mirroring a lot of things i've been hearing as well. Went to a private liberal arts college in the U.S. for undergrad and truly appreciated the intimate relationships I built with my professors. Ideally, i'd like to have that for grad school too (at least on some level). So glad to hear that about Hertie!
  9. Thank you, will definitely check out the report (it already looks amazing)! Do you know what the requirements for doing a dual degree with SIPA are? I'm assuming it's too late in the game to consider this? Does Hertie have exchange programs too, which you can apply to later on during the degree program? Yes, does seem like lots of the exchange students (Sciences Po and Columbia) have enjoyed their classes at Hertie!
  10. be409, thank you for telling me about the reputation in Europe! Everything I have heard so far is wonderful I must say! What is being said about the quality of education and what makes it unique as an institution? How about quality of life in Berlin? Applied for the program 1/24 and heard back 2/26. Last name starts with a "K". Good luck!!
  11. Although i'm American, did not take the GRE. Still managed to get a 25% tuition waiver, so for European folks it should be fine if you do not have GRE scores to show for it!
  12. Congrats and thanks so much! Are you located in Europe? Im a US applicant so a bit concerned about how the school is perceived abroad. Please do share the details of all the good things you've heard from alumni and friends! It would definitely help shape my decision making!
  13. Hey there! Also just heard back with a 25% tuition waiver as well! Was Hertie your first choice? What is making you choose this program specifically?
  14. Congrats! Let us know how the interview went! How far in advance did they contact you for the interview?
  15. Yes, to go off of this the admissions office confirmed with me I should be hearing about scholarship decisions either this week or next week latest (assuming this will also apply to most applicants)!
  16. Good luck! Finally called the admissions office to confirm my acceptance, which they did and apparently it was a glitch on their part that I didn't receive my official e-mail. Don't worry, it took me nearly 4 weeks as well to hear back and was just as concerned as you! God knows how their admissions process works. Let us know when you hear news
  17. Congrats! That sounds amazing!! Searched for Oxford MPP in the results tab and believe I saw someone posted an interview for 2016.
  18. Honestly think it's a very strange e-mail, I'm wondering if they are doing rounds as well...any other folks out there who could comment on this? Looks like someone already had an interview based on the results board! Good luck to you too, Risate! Are you applying elsewhere too?
  19. Submitted the day of the deadline -- January 22nd! Did you also receive the announcement e-mail?
  20. No problem! Hang in there guys, wishing the best of the best for all of us...
  21. No, they did not mention and I forgot to ask. But I sent them a follow-up email. I'll be sure to let you know if I hear back!
  22. No, I haven't! I'm sure I would've been able to do perfectly well but my nerves and the limited time (20 minutes) might have gotten in the way. That being said, other parts of my interview went fine.
  23. Haven't received any official email from Sciences Po yet regarding my application, but got a strange e-mail today commenting on how I would be a good candidate for the program and inviting me to take a closer look at the program. Has anyone received this kind of correspondence? Not sure what to think.
  24. Thanks, The whimsical! How did you find your interview? Yes, this waiting is driving me insane!!
