  1. Welcome! I don't think anyone's gotten a Munk acceptance yet. Search the thread for some of the other acceptances so far, there have been a handful. Not sure how Munk does decisions, sorry! Hope you're able to distract yourself from the wait.
  2. We're not all going to hear something today, it's just not feasible or doable, imo. So let's chill and wait for a response to roll out over the next couple of weeks, realistically.
  3. Mannnnn I don't know how I'm supposed to a-sleep tonight and b- work all day tomorrow without CHECKING ALL MY PORTALS and email and junk folders
  4. Congrats! I got a similar unofficial offer from McMaster - told me to expect an offer soon. I'd still love to stay in Toronto though, so waiting for Ryerson and Munk
  5. Congratulations! Wonderful news. I love hearing about those last-minute apps that just work out I hope you hear from Carleton soon too!
  6. Jhumpa Lahiri did it with Italian! She wrote an entire book in a language she learned as an adult https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/jan/30/in-other-words-jhumpa-lahiri-review-learning-italian
  7. Omg congrats! Very happy for you! I can't advise one way or another, you'll have to research which program will advance your career and personal goals the most
  8. I do think it's a rolling basis, in the sense that they likely target the top applicants first with funding/.scholarships, then others, then waitlist. I know someone who got in after two weeks on the waitlist in recent years. I also know two people who waited months to get off the waitlist and got rejected at the end of last summer. <insert shrug emoji> March madness begins haha
  9. " We hope to have admission decisions out by mid-March if not earlier. " - this is an excerpt from a Munk email from LAST year, about the 2016 cycle. I have no reason to believe it has changed.
  10. Same. I had one teeny silver lining today. An undergrad certificate at York that I've always wished I'd taken years ago seems to have admitted me, but that was literally only based on me sending them a transcript. So I suppose that's something I can do this September if I get rejected from every grad program!
  11. Personally I'm not considering funding in my admission decisions - mostly because I am pretty certain I'm not a first-round top-of-the-pile applicant (I know my own limits). So I'll be lucky to get into my first choice or second choice, and I'll stick with them whether I get funding or not.
  12. Welcome! i have an American friend who already got his admission to Hertie, and I have one other acquaintance currently studying there, I think! Nice to see Hertie on your list.
  13. I've emailed GSPIA my concerns about the application status, because I know 100% everything is in. LORs were hard copy and mailed a month ago and received as well. I'll update here when I hear back. So far, my status remains "incomplete" showing one LOR missing. Over the phone, I was told last week that that same LOR is right there in front of them. Soooo I am assuming it's just technical stuff.
  14. No I don't think that's how it works. I think they have everything on paper, but their technical system for application statuses is simply dysfunctional. It doesn't mean they haven't looked at everyone's application.
  15. Yooooo, same! My GSPIA app is still listed incomplete too. But I have called and they verbally told me everything is on file.
