  1. I'm drawn to Munk because I went to U of T years ago. I also researched their MGA program, and found feedback from their current and past students to be very positive. My interests lie in immigration and social justice issues. How has your application prep gone so far?
  2. Hi all, I thought I'd start a thread specifically for those of us applying to Munk and other Canadian international affairs programs for fall 2017. Topic name begins with Munk simply because that's my first choice lol Applications haven't opened yet but I figured, why not Here's last cycle's thread:
  3. I got rejected via email. My status still says under review lol so don't count on simply checking that.
  4. Welp, I submitted my application before deadline, got waitlisted in March, then got rejected this month. Not sure what that timeline says about your chances but all the best! If you're exceptional, maybe they'll fit you in? Who knows. Hope you receive some good news
  5. 1) Munk's website states $34,450 per year for international students. 2) In most cases, you can apply for admission to more than one program. Check out the FAQ for U of T's School of Graduate Studies, that Q is on there. 3) Ask the admissions office. It really depends on the candidate. I barely made the minimum GPA but still got good reviews on my overall application because of other factors like work experience, etc. 4) I think an economics minor should satisfy this requirement, BUT since you go to a university abroad, you will want to check and confirm with the program that this minor is recognized by them. Email the admissions office. 5) People do both. The MGA is not like an MBA, where work experience is required. From what I've heard, I think their cohort of students is pretty diverse - some come straight from undergrad, some from working a few years. Good luck. Scour the website for answers, email the admissions office, and see if U of T has a recruitment/admissions office in India maybe?
  6. When's the deadline to pay fees for Munk, ya'll? Just wondering!
  7. Hi there. I applied to just one school this past application season, and didn't get in - got waitlisted instead. I've given up hope for admission before fall 2016, so I'm gearing up for another more fulsome round of applications for summer/fall 2017 instead. I have never taken the GRE because the school I applied to advised me to focus on my work experience instead of taking the GRE and potentially scoring low. My list of schools to apply to now includes an MBA program, where they might consider a GRE if it's a strong application. Otherwise they take GMAT results only. The last time I did math was high school - and the grades I scored were great back then - so I can picture intensely throwing myself back into it for a GMAT over the next three months, with the guidance of a tutor. BUT the rest of my list is all intl relations/global affairs/media masters programs. So my question is: do I simply forgo the GMAT and prepare for the GRE instead? Do I (gulp) try and do both? Should I simply do a GMAT and submit that to the other programs (they don't require a GRE but they say that if you are doing a test, give them GRE results)? Basically, what's the best test to throw my weight and effort behind? I only get one more shot at this and I work full-time and don't want to compromise this coming round of applications! Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
  8. erhmagerrdddddd anyway, emotions aside, mine still says Under Review too. I keep checking in case it changes to Decision Made, but no idea if that sort of status change is expected for ppl on the waitlist (I too am waitlisted)
  9. Nope. My application status still says Under Review. Someone else emailed the office to find out but they say they got no response.
  10. I know we keep responses here to updates on our applications and results but it's mid-April and the one place I want to attend still has me on a waitlist and I'm like feeling all the feels >>
  11. You and I both *only* applied to the MGA, eh? I feel you.
  12. Hey guys - has anyone heard anything from Munk specifically AFTER being waitlisted?
  13. Same, it's the only program I applied to mainly because working full-time etc stretched my grad-school-application time really thin
  14. I also got waitlisted for Munk. Email says: " The MGA has admitted a maximum number of applicants for this fall and should a spot open up between now and September, applicants on the waitlist will be considered for it. Being offered a spot in the program will depend on how many applicants accept our offer of admission. Please note there is no ranking on the waitlist. All applicants on the waitlist will be assessed for a place in the program should one open up. In the past, we have admitted students off the waitlist as late as the end of August. You will only be notified if we want to offer you a spot in the program."
  15. As far as I know, Munk acceptances are supposed to be sent out by mid-March if not earlier.
