Just emailed Iris and she replied back immediately saying she is meeting with grad Dept tommorow and she will make sure that I get a official letter by this week. Hopefully it's an acceptance letter and not a rejection letter LOL.

Yea I just hope grad Dept dosent create an issue. I don't think it will with everything iris told me but you never know

Iris said to me in an email "about a week or so. They are busy during this time but not too long" looking at the results from last year...some ppl waited two weeks. I just want an official acceptance letter so I can finally be at peace. Did you receive the email from iris saying they are recommending you? Or did she share anything with you abt the process

Yea the funding is amazing..I also looked at the fee schedule and its only 7-8k a year so not that expensive to start with. TA positions should help with that... I am pretty sure we have to find those ourselves. Plus the the 8 month internship should help as well.

You are probably right. The university wants to be sure for thesis candidates because thesis students get more money from university but also because McMaster is really research focused espically in healthcare.

If your goal is to stay in academia then go for uft but if you want to work in the field I think Mac has better relationships with empolyers I also spoke to some uft ppl in the program and they said that alot of the "placements" were non paid whereas at Mac only a few were unpaid. But uft has a better reputation abroad and in Canada outside Ontario. If I were in your situation I would go to uft just because thier program is shorter and I can be out working alot quicker

That's awesome...have you received official acceptance from Mac? If not I would call and iris and see if she can push your up through the grad dept

honestly i think that iris has your file on the desk but she left for the day.you will hear back on monday for sure. i am just kinda worried abt the grad office..i hope they dont create a problem. i am sure they wont but you know, your mind wonders. Good luck to all of you...if anyone still hasn't done the interview and has questions let me know and i can help you out i still remember most of the questions

norm and iris told me that grad office is where all qualified applications after they interview pp and they feel that good for the person. According to both of them its a formality and 99.99 you are in. she said since the program started over 6 years there have been only 2 cases that had issues with. All the people that have heard acceptance have been referred to grad departmant. or am i wrong? did music freak and bluejays get a official offer from mac? i was told that gradschool office has the final say but that its mostly just a formality and they make sure the transcripts are legit...did anybody else hear something else?

Just got the email from iris for full time thesis that they are recommending me to grad Dept. I spoke to her and she said that grad Dept is just a formality and 99.99 % you will be fine. Since the program started they only had 2 ppl not be accepted by grad Dept.

Thats what I am thinking as well. I never had an opportunity to tell them that I am open course based...did they ask u that? Or did u just say it. Noam Archer did mine..I don't think we will hear anything till Monday just because it's almost 5 and I don't think iris would have time to send anything out now. I am nervous as shit cuzze I screwed up on one question

Not to worry...just got off the phone with the program director... He said that we only interview ppl who are ranked high enough for consideration
