  1. I can confirm this. My interview was on Thursday with two members of their faculty. The interviews were done for everyone who cleared the final round of review. They did not mention exactly how many applicants they'd be interviewing, but did mention that the final pool is "extremely small". I was also told that the final meeting about decisions was held on Thursday evening itself, and that they expect to communicate decisions by early next week.
  2. Will definitely take a look, thanks!
  3. Mine was an interpretive paper on Aristotle, particularly on an important connection between his ethics and his metaphysics.
  4. With that description, I really hope not! But more seriously, I really can't say. I got an email from them on Monday, and was asked to pick a slot for either Wednesday or Thursday. FWIW, the email came from the dept. administrator, not from a professor.
  5. There's a good explanation for this. UChicago is doing interviews this year (I received an interview request, and mine is tomorrow). I take it that they're doing 2-3 interviews a day, and sending out acceptances accordingly in phases.
  6. Congratulations to everyone!
  7. Do you mind sharing who contacted you? Was it the DGA or your POI?
  8. I think you are right about UPitt's support for Wittgensteinian scholarship. Nevertheless, it may be worth keeping in mind that both Brandom and McDowell are likely to be quite close to retirement.
  9. The B.Phil program is quite competitive, and no easier to get into than a mid-ranked (30-40) PhD program. From what you've described, I think you may be worrying too much about being shut out. At worst, you won't get into a top-25 or so, but PGR-40 is a broader and safer range. Also, you may want to look at top MA programs in the US, if you haven't already. I think the deadline for Tufts has passed, but some other good schools may still be open.
  10. I think Toronto has a separate 4-year track that lets you skip some of the coursework. I'm not aware of any US programs with the same structure. I think it's typical for students with MAs to just apply to the normal 5 year track.
  11. I'll be joining Tufts. Would be happy to stay connected.
  12. Wrong forum.
  13. With an application season as promising as yours, this is courageous and deeply admirable. I hope you can get closer to the "good life", whichever way you choose to go about it.
  14. Accepted to Tufts' and GSU's MA programs. Waiting to hear about funding from Tufts.
  15. Waitlisted at Pitt. Does anyone know how many applicants are typically waitlisted at Pitt?
  16. Claiming the most recent waitlist at Pitt. Also applied to Toronto and Rutgers.
