Moved off of the wait list at UCR and I've been recommended for admissions. My official offer should be coming soon. -
Here Comes the Sun/ Waitlist Movements
ThePandaBard replied to Warelin's topic in Literature, and Rhetoric and Composition
I moved off of the wait list into admissions at UCR. I got the unofficial, I'm waiting on the official. I'll be turning down my acceptance and wait list for funding at UNL once that comes through and my wait list at Tennessee's MFA program (which was just for ego, and it was cool to be wait listed for my poetry but I'd prefer to get my PhD). -

Thank you! I was getting nervous there. A wait list isn't an acceptance but it's better than not knowing. I emailed the program coordinator this morning to let them know that my panel on Shakespeare and Society had been accepted for 2018's PAMLA conference. I got the email about an hour later. -
Just got my wait list notification for UCR. They said they'd have a clearer idea on if I'm admitted in about two weeks. I'm still waiting on word of funding from UNL, as I was accepted there and wait listed on funding. I've been rejected, it seems, from all of my other programs. Here's hoping for some people turning down their spots (with funding) so I can move off of the wait lists.

I've just gotten word that I'm wait listed at UCR and that I should know my status in two weeks. If anyone got in and isn't planning on attending, please do me a solid and let them know ASAP! -

I saw that too. There's only one though - does anyone want to claim it? I thought Columbia was still deciding and people would be hearing next week. -
So, word from my friend from UCR matches what's been said here: UCR is looking for a pre-1900s literature cohort since their last cohort was mainly post-1900s literature. That's the only word we've gotten. They were meeting all day yesterday and Wednesday, apparently. I haven't heard anything else either way.

Thank you - you too! Two years ago (the last time I applied to Davis) I was soft-wait listed. So like everyone got invites or rejected and I got nothing. I had to contact the school to find out I was wait listed. I was ultimately not offered a spot and didn't get my official rejection from them until something like June. The same thing during the same cycle happened to a classmate that had just finished his MA at our program. So I mean, a wait list spot is a possibility if they sent the acceptances and rejections and haven't contacted you yet.
