  1. Are you going to the open house next month? I'll be there. I'll be the local Marxist feminist.
  2. Moved off of the wait list at UCR and I've been recommended for admissions. My official offer should be coming soon.
  3. Got in at UCR, so I'll be staying local. I'll just be moving like 40 more minutes inland and staying in California. I'm happy.
  4. I moved off of the wait list into admissions at UCR. I got the unofficial, I'm waiting on the official. I'll be turning down my acceptance and wait list for funding at UNL once that comes through and my wait list at Tennessee's MFA program (which was just for ego, and it was cool to be wait listed for my poetry but I'd prefer to get my PhD).
  5. Just moved off of the wait list for UCR. Official acceptance is coming soon they say. I feel better now.
  6. I don't. I was top of the wait list two years ago at UCR before my MA and they didn't end up going to the wait list.
  7. UCR was just checking to make sure I wanted to be on the wait list and to hear if I had other offers. They said they'd know more in 7-10 days. Ugh. My heart is broken by that call.
  8. UCR emailed me and asked to schedule a phone call for later today. I'm hoping it's a movement off the wait list - I can't imagine they'd call to reject me or to say that my status has stayed the same.
  9. I emailed the program coordinator an update on a conference (got accepted as chair for a panel) and later that day the faculty chair emailed me my application status as waitlisted. I don't know if the two events are related though.
  10. I think UCR has notified their acceptances at this point. I was emailed about being on the wait list already too.
  11. Thank you! I was getting nervous there. A wait list isn't an acceptance but it's better than not knowing. I emailed the program coordinator this morning to let them know that my panel on Shakespeare and Society had been accepted for 2018's PAMLA conference. I got the email about an hour later.
  12. Just got my wait list notification for UCR. They said they'd have a clearer idea on if I'm admitted in about two weeks. I'm still waiting on word of funding from UNL, as I was accepted there and wait listed on funding. I've been rejected, it seems, from all of my other programs. Here's hoping for some people turning down their spots (with funding) so I can move off of the wait lists.
  13. I've just gotten word that I'm wait listed at UCR and that I should know my status in two weeks. If anyone got in and isn't planning on attending, please do me a solid and let them know ASAP!
  14. I'm seeing Boulder rejections going up, and I checked my portal to see no rejection. It looks like acceptances were already notified on the phone, though, and that wait lists went out. I'm assuming that my rejection is just coming later.
  15. I know UCR decides in batches - my friend's current cohort all got accepted (not wait listed) within like a two month period. I get that. I just don't get wait lists going out if they haven't sent more acceptances out yet.
  16. Who knows - maybe. I think they were aiming for a pretty large cohort so I felt at least we'd see a few acceptances go up before wait lists.
  17. I haven't seen anymore acceptances to UCR going out but there are now to wait lists on the board, both for American lit it seems. I'm super confused.
  18. Yup. It looks like the acceptances all went out at once from the speed at which people are claiming them/the acceptances are being posted on the results board. UCR's my only hope, or funding coming through from Nebraska-Lincoln.
  19. I saw that too. There's only one though - does anyone want to claim it? I thought Columbia was still deciding and people would be hearing next week.
  20. Same. It looks like Davis, for the past two acceptance cycles, has been really trying to build their ecofeminist rep and have been mainly focusing on that. I wouldn't have spent my time applying if I had known ahead of time since I do Marxist feminism.
  21. So, word from my friend from UCR matches what's been said here: UCR is looking for a pre-1900s literature cohort since their last cohort was mainly post-1900s literature. That's the only word we've gotten. They were meeting all day yesterday and Wednesday, apparently. I haven't heard anything else either way.
  22. Ahhh I'm so trying not to think about UCR. I live like an hour away. I just want to go stand outside of the door and listen in, haha.
  23. Thank you - you too! Two years ago (the last time I applied to Davis) I was soft-wait listed. So like everyone got invites or rejected and I got nothing. I had to contact the school to find out I was wait listed. I was ultimately not offered a spot and didn't get my official rejection from them until something like June. The same thing during the same cycle happened to a classmate that had just finished his MA at our program. So I mean, a wait list spot is a possibility if they sent the acceptances and rejections and haven't contacted you yet.
