GSPIA is an amazing program, you should be celebrating the low tuition fees! Sorry about Munk tho.
-
I was told that they would fix my uozone glitch by Friday for sure. Who really knows though with GSPIA? I've been told so many things over the past few weeks lol. Nancy is amazing though, bless her soul. It seems like she's the only one working there or something. GSPIA - NPSIA - Carleton MPPA - uOttawa MPA are my choices. I'm hoping we get GSPIA soon so we can start deciding.
-
I feel uOttawa has better coop placements - their coop program is one of the best and is very official.
-
I had asked originally about my MPA application. I was admitted to that last night, and this morning it switched back to under evaluation. When we were discussing that, I had asked about GSPIA. She said she could see on my file that I was in fact admitted also to GSPIA last week, but it still says under evaluation because of a technical glitch. Apparently it has been happening to a lot of students - we are actually admitted but it glitches to keep saying under eval. Apparently she contacted IT and they are working on it. She told me I should receive the offer hopefully today or tomorrow but for sure Friday.

I don't find myself as impressed with NPSIA's faculty vs. GSPIA's. It's because I am drawn to both - I like NPSIA's course offerings, course-based option, specialization and its reputation. But I don't like the increase in class sizes and the smaller, less diverse faculty. This will be a hard decision - it feels weird to decline an offer from NPSIA.

Very crazy to hear lol. She said I was admitted to GSPIA last week, official offer and everything but there is a technical glitch saying I'm only still under evaluation. Now my uOttawa MPA status has changed BACK to "admitted". This system is horrible. If I hadn't called to check up on my MPA application, I would have never known this about GSPIA and could have been on under evaluation for god knows how long haha, so maybe double check!

Hey guys, quick update on GSPIA. I just found out that there has been a technical glitch. Apparently I have been admitted since last week, but the system keeps showing under evaluation. I called the Graduate Office and now they need to get technical support... so crazy. Just thought I'd share. Also, my MPA "admitted" status for uOttawa is also now back to under evaluation. Basically, the girl on the phone said she can see my offers for both programs yet the system still shows under eval. Just something to keep in mind.
-
Lol my status from uOttawa MPA went from admitted with my offer and everything back to under evaluation?
-
I haven't gotten my official offer yet but yes I am surprised. @Kaspara got a huge offer from NPSIA but then got 12k I believe for GSPIA? To be honest, I thought it would have been the opposite. My decision depends on what funding GSPIA offers - but from the looks of it, they're mostly giving out 12k
-
Does anyone have any thoughts on the uOttawa MPA program? I haven't heard much about it but I know it has two paid coop terms.
-
Thank you! I'm pretty sure uOttawa tuition is a bit cheaper than Carleton too. This was a solid offer so I'm happy! The uOttawa MPA program also has two terms of paid coop so that is also a big plus factor. My last program to hear back from is GSPIA! Hoping we hear tomorrow
-
I agree with all of your points. GSPIA is also my first choice that's why I'm so anxious for a response from them! My FSWEP employer needs proof of enrolment too soon so I hope we hear something by this week.
-
I believe so. I can't believe how long they're taking - it's mid-March. I almost want to stop checking my application portal because I'm tired of seeing "Under Evaluation" every single time. Unfortunate because its my first choice and I wanted to have all these offers on the table so I could start weighing pros and cons. I was told I would receive an answer two weeks ago, and still nothing. Yet Carleton was so quick! Very frustrating.

Has anyone heard from GSPIA since those first offers back in Feb? They seem pretty quiet over there.
-
I've been hearing interesting things about the NPSIA vs. GSPIA debate - working at GAC, I get to talk to a lot of alumni about their experiences at NPSIA. Recently, I've actually been told that since I'm already at GAC, that GSPIA may be more attractive. A lot of things that have been said is that the profs at GSPIA are very well-sought and apparently NPSIA has been increasing their admissions like crazy - 130 back in 2014-2016 and I imagine it keeps getting higher. I was told to actually accept GSPIA vs. NPSIA... and this came from a NPSIA alumni. Just some food for thought.

Lmao 3k...I feel guilty about being upset about 19k from NPSIA. Crazy the funding some programs will offer vs others. Congrats on your NPSIA offer

Also, I found something weird on both funding offers for Carleton's MPPA and NPSIA. I have this listed for both programs under the "view/accept/decline funding" link: 2017/18 Domestic Entrance Masters Offered 2,000.00 1,000.00 Pending 1,000.00 Pending 0.00 n/a None 2017/18 Domestic Entrance Masters Offered 2,000.00 1,000.00 Pending 1,000.00 Pending 0.00 n/a None 2017/18 Scholarship Departmental Offered 2,000.00 666.67 Pending 666.67 Pending 666.66 Pending None 2017/18 Scholarship Departmental Offered 7,500.00 2,500.00 Pending 2,500.00 Pending 2,500.00 Pending None 2017/18 Scholarship Departmental 2 Offered 3,500.00 1,750.00 Pending 1,750.00 Pending 0.00 n/a None 2017/18 Teaching Assistants Offered 5,144.00 2,572.00 Pending 2,572.00 Pending 0.00 n/a None Which comes to 22,144 for both programs? It's weird because on my statement of standing, I only received 19k for the MPPA and 19,244 for NPSIA. And for Carleton's MPPA on the statement of standing it doesn't show a TAship - but on the funding awards tab it does? ^ Can anyone help? If this is truly the amount of funding I'll be receiving, for NPSIA/MPPA, my decision will be a lot harder.
-
Is it 21 business days from when you receive your letter of offer or just in general 21 days including weekends?
-
Ugh such a hard call. I prefer NPSIA over the MPPA to be honest but I'd rather the latter's funding offer l hope GSPIA gives me a good offer this week and that will help make the decision a little easier.
-
Which do you think is the best funding offer? For some reason, my MPPA offer seems better than this NPSIA one. But they're still the same amount of money?
