  1. GUYS OMG I JUST CHECKED MY APPLICATION AND I HAVE BEEN ADMITTED TO GSPIA WITH $6,000 SCHOLARSHIP PER YEAR SO THAT"S $11,0000 OMGGG I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!!!!
  2. Just checked and my NPSIA application changed to "recommended for assessment" What does this mean? Also I had a chance to visit Ottawa today! I have to say I am impressed by the social science building! Or maybe this is because I come from a very small campus haha/
  3. I'm finishing off my last semester at Wind, I have some relevant experience, interned with the UNDP in the Middle East for the summer, and I have experience with research and as a TA and lots of volunteer and leadership stuff. Is anyone here into Model UN?
  4. I just checked!! My status has changed to "Review in progress by department" ..... does this mean I should find out soon? This is so nerve wracking.
  5. They usually accept around 80 students each year, so that means we have a 20% chance of getting accepted. Best of luck guys!
  6. I've applied to GSPIA, NPSIA, MUNK and SIDGS, I feel like I should have applied to more programs, anyone else facing this dilemma or am I just overthinking this and letting the anxiety get to me?
  7. I called and she asked for my student number and told me I should check back by the end of the day and that it should all be updated. However, I just received an email from the grad office telling me that everything has been uploaded, I checked the uozone and my application is still "incomplete" and my letter of intent is still not on there. I am not sure if this will have an impact on their decision but I was told a few weeks ago that they don't actually start evaluating applications until mid February because they know the grad office take time to sort through applications.
  8. I doubt I will be receiving a response from GSPIA this month, I had to call in today and notify them that they have yet to upload my statement and that they only updated my resume..... SOOOOO this is going to be a very long wait.
  9. Three of my friends have been accepted into law school (Ottawa, Toronto, and Windsor). I am very nervous about everything now, and I am anxious to start receiving some responses from grad schools, what is the consensus on when we should hear back?
  10. So I just checked my Munk application and the status changed to "under review"!!! I am so annoyed with Ottawa too, I emailed them my resume and letter of intent, and they have uploaded my resume to my file but not my letter! Which makes no sense, so currently my application status is "Your admission file is incomplete"
  11. For GSPIA I emailed both my resume and my statement, they uploaded my resume on Monday but didnt my statement! I called and she said they upload them at different time, I guess they do the resumes first. So annoyed, very slow process.
  12. I wouldn't be too worried, I also made a mistake by capitalizing H in Human right but I was told it isn't a big deal. It took me a few reads to notice your mistake. Don't be too worried. It was obviously unintended and you do know the difference between both...
  13. I've had some professors mention this to me, personally I would lean more towards GSPIA and I don't think it's criticism of either school, it really depends on your research interests and what kind of setting you prefer.
  14. Thank you for sharing this! My GPA has been consistent over the last 4 years with a small increase in the last two. Do you know what the average grade is for accepted applicants?
  15. Update! I also applied to the school of Globalization and International Development at UOttawa, I just checked my application on Uozone and it changed to "Under evaluation: Your file is now complete. We will inform you as soon as a decision has been reached." sooooo nervous!
  16. I literally submitted all my applications the day they were due, hence I don't think I will be receiving early responses. It really depends on, do they look at the applications that were submitted first or is there an alphabetical order? Or does it go based on a rolling basis (those that submitted first will be evaluated first)? Also for GSPIA they haven't even uploaded my documents yet (i sent them an email :(). Who else is having the same issue? I wonder how long it'll take them.
  17. I definitely agree with you all, I was leaning more towards NPSIA and their clusters are what mainly attracted me to the program, however, GSPIA has a larger diversity of professors in different fields, and my research interests align more with them. On a side note, I am sort of freaking out because I was just reading over my submitted GSPIA statement and I realized one grammar mistake, so I am really bummed out right now Also who here mentioned professors and courses they would like to take in their personal statement?
  18. I submitted everything to Carleton, but the status of my application hasn't changed to signify this, is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
  19. Submitted everything! Now just waiting for GSPIA to upload the documents. Best of luck everyone! I guess here begins the long waiting game (anyone else anxious?)
  20. The link I attached is for specific requirements; so you have to choose the program and everything will show. Go to where it says "Areas of Specialization" and also in the letter of intent section it mentions we have to identify field of concentration.
  21. I found this information under areas of specialization; Public Policy / International Affairs / Development Studies. But the school website doesn't mention this. Does anyone know anything about this? http://www.uottawa.ca/graduate-studies/programs-admission/apply/specific-requirements?Org=API
