I'll be declining University of Oregon this week and will be declining one other offer once I make a decision. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Nothing to add on clothes, but another Boulder (theory) admit here going to the recruitment event!

Never mind, rejected and honestly just happy to have some closure

Saw a couple of U Washington (Seattle) rejections on the results page today (acceptances went out weeks ago) and still haven't heard anything ? Is anybody else still in the no-contact boat?

Thank you for such a well considered and thoughtful response! Assuming I don't get into Johns Hopkins, I'm also leaning towards UBC for the sake of a potential career (I definitely want to go into academia), but am waiting to talk to more current students + potentially visit Vancouver (I've been to Boulder and will be going for the admitted students event but have not been to Vancouver) before fully deciding. Unfortunately I didn't apply to UCLA and have been regretting that for a while now, but too late now! I only applied to places with people doing environmental political theory which left a fairly narrow list. Given how my applications on the whole have gone, I highly doubt I'll get into JHU but, if I do, i'm honestly not sure where I would go between there and UBC. UBC has a relatively large theory program and many of the theory profs are working with methodologies and perspectives that align with my research well.
Re: negotiating a competitive stipend at Boulder, any recommendations on how to do that besides dropping hints (e.g. I really love this department but I am also considering  offers with fellowships at Oregon and UBC)?

I love this idea! What do you study within PT?

I heard back around 4:30 EST. The portal still said submitted but there was a separate link to click and see the decision page. It looks like another person did as well so I guess they aren't all coming out at once this year

Update: this ended up being only a partially true assumption. Rejected from the PhD, but accepted to MAPSS with funding!

I am in exactly the same boat! All rejection so far (besides an MPhil with a very hard offer) and only expecting rejections for the rest (although we should both bear in mind it isn't over yet!). It's probably not a sign that nobody is interested though so much as that nobody is able to supervise in it? Like you can find something incredibly intriguing but just not have someone who specialises in that area.
In hind sight, I actually really regret my research proposal for this reason. While I find it intriguing, it is definitely not traditional in any sense. If I could do it over I would have sent in a  more "standard" proposal and contacted POIs during the process, and saved the more obscure topic until later on, but too late now.

Just went through my inbox and unsubscribed from every mailing list I ever signed up for, since every time the count for unread messages goes up, I have a mini heart attack. This waiting game is absolutely brutal!

One of my professors always says that there is only one way to find all the typos, errors, and mistakes you made in a piece you wrote. It's clicking the submit button. After that, suddenly everything jumps you in the eye. So, don't worry about it.

I'm oddly glad to receive the rejection email from Princeton - it's better than the radio silence from other schools!

Love this question to pass the time! I'm always curious what subfields people are interested in, as political science encompasses so many different things. Like Gik but in the opposite order, my subfields are PT and IR, with a research proposal on gender rights for non-binary/non-Western genders. Generally, I'm interested in contemporary political theory, esp. rights, gender politics, and distributive and environmental justice.

Hope everybody's holidays were excellent! It's very exciting and nerve-wracking to think that, if this cycle is similar to prior cycles, we'll have decisions from at least a few schools before the month is over.
To pass the time, what is everyone interested in studying? My subfield is IR, with specific interests in international organizations and foreign aid allocation.
