  1. Since people are posting jobs they know of opening on the horizon--Does anyone know of any genetic/genetic counseling assistant or even research type jobs opening in Ohio? Specifically Cincinnati or Dayton area?
  2. I’m on mobile so I can’t see your signature—where again did you interview? that list opens in a half hour. It’s not over til it’s over.
  3. I did not match anywhere. I’m beyond broken this morning.
  4. I have a new freak out I just came up with: One of my schools had a scholarship track for diversity. I don’t really qualify for it, but I ranked it anyways. Above the regular track. Now I’m freaking out because I’m like WHAT if that’s what it picks, and I’m disqualified for something?
  5. So one other paranoid worrier question...2 out of the three programs I sent thank you emails to, haven't responded. Should I be worried that's a really bad sign? I think at this point I just like to worry. April 27th can't come quick enough.
  6. I have a question--those of you who applied to USF, have you heard back? I was thinking about this today.
  7. I'm glad I haven't sent them yet then. How embarrassing! Thank you for letting me know!
  8. Thank you email question--those of you who know what your top choice will be, are you telling them you're ranking them number one in your thank you email? or is that too bold? also i'm torn because i don't want to be a jerk, but i also don't remember the name and workplace of everyone who interviewed me, so i'd like to just send them to the program directors and assisstant directors.
  9. How is everyone handling thank you notes? Are you just sending emails to the director and assistant director of the programs you interviewed with? I need to send one and i'm nervous about either looking cliche, or rude if i wait much longer (it's been a week!)
  10. My first interview is Wednesday. I'm having a mild meltdown I'm so nervous, I feel unprepared. Anyone have advice? People who have already had interviews this cycle what has it been like? Especially anyone who's had an interview at UAB?
  11. Anyone else from our thread interviewing at UAB next Wednesday (28th)?
  12. Utah said they wont even review your applications? What?
  13. Got a phone call from Baypath yesterday. Skype interview!
  14. Random question: People who got Cincinnati interviews--when was your interview?
  15. "the day after is 50% off chocolate day" ^This is the REAL holiday
  16. No, I'm saying the combined time for people who get 6 and 8 interviews adds up to about a week (see what I mean?). I also work in academia, but in my job it is NOT encouraged to take time off. I'm an advisor, and and I'm already booked for the next month. I will have to move a bunch of student appointments. It's totally worth it though so I'm doing it!
  17. All of you who are getting lots of interviews, i'm curios--how are you making it work with your life? Any secrets/suggestions for flight searching, or scheduling secrets you've learned? Are you flying in in the morning and out at night, or staying 2 days at these places? What are you telling your bosses when you tell them you basically need a WEEK off? haha I'm nervous to break the news to my boss today, and it must be done...
  18. I'm back!!!! I got interview offers from UAB and Utah yesterday. It still feels really surreal. I'm beyond happy! Also want to prepare for these interviews as best as possible! Does anyone have any opinions when choosing interview dates if you should or shouldn't go in the last group?
  19. This will be my last post in the thread. I got my rejection letter from Cincinnati yesterday morning, so I guess some people waited til the last possible second to RSVP on Friday night. I'm not sure why they were making poor Betty work on a Sunday morning, but it was a really great way to kick off the end of my weekend. I can't watch people get 8 and 9 interviews, when I can't even get one, it hurts too much. So I'm done. Good luck to all of you, and congrats to those of you that are getting interviews. I will not be looking at the spreadsheet anymore, and am not going to be rabidly checking my email. All I'm waiting on is the official rejection emails from UTHouston and UAB, and the the game should repeat itself next week when Utah, KGI and Augustana make their offers.
  20. I don't have one, so I'm taking that as my 6th rejection. Dang it. I really really wanted UAB.
