I've been thinking about this a lot today. Not only are flights on a week or two's notice a fortune, at least from the airport I fly from, (except Cincinnati--thank you frontier airlines). But also, anyone else who works full time--are you a little worried? I have appointments all day every day--and I'm required to let people schedule a month out. Right now I'm booked solid through most of February. I have vacation time, but using it is another story.

I feel your pain! I also haven't heard anything. And while I wasn't REALLY expecting to hear until February, the fact that everyone else is, is making me nervous too. I guess we can take some solace in the fact our schools haven't called ANYONE yet, so no news is good news.

Also I feel really behind--today is payday so I've been waiting to submit that app til i had the money, and now that you're all getting interviews already...Do you guys think it's still worth turnin in, or??

Just because I have doubts--didn't their website say February last year, but they sent out interviews around this week?

I also agree that anyone who's getting Cincinnati interviews will hear this week. Does anyone want to take one for the team and call and see when/how many will be interviewed?

When I applied to OSU last year I didn't get my rejection letter until mid february-ish. I'm assuming most of the interviews are accounted for now. Math wise (and i'm kind of winging it here), I'd assume they interview about 40, and I also assume probably only 1/4 of applicants know about gradcafe and the spreadsheet, so that leaves the other 3/4 unaccounted for. So 8 people have reported interview calls. 8x4=32. 40-32. That leaves I'm guessing about 8 spots left for the last round of interviews. Nerve wracking!

I feel very behind that I've only submitted 3 applications thus far. However last year I was a maniac and turned them all in the first week of december, and was later told it actually didn't matter at all how early I turned it in, as long as it was in by the cut off. Has anyone else heard similar? Now I'm paranoid.

Anyone applying to UBC--did you have to send official transcripts? Or were unofficials sufficient?

Was it Ohio state?! haha. Anyways, if you access the result sheet: https://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=genetic+counseling+ it gives you an idea when people have historically heard last year. We're still early on. You'll typically hear in January and February. Did you enter your results from the school you heard from?

I called UTHealth about this very topic yesterday. Was told unofficials are fine during the application process, officials will be needed after interviews. Additionally, if anyone was wondering, she checked with the graduate school and was told your recommenders will be sent the link as soon as you submit their names, not the application (makes me happy!)

Congrats to you! I don't know if this makes me feel better or worse--I submitted my application before December 1st, but I got an email last week saying my application was still "incomplete" (FALSE--they had all my transcripts, the grad admissions office just hadn't marked it in the system!) which wasn't resolved until I called Monday. Probably just shot myself in the foot really good for a chance at an interview. I figure they probably interview 40. I also am going to take a wild ballpark guess and say that only maybe 25% of applicants know about this forum and are reporting their results on the spreadsheet. So if that's the case, they probably called 16 or so people yesterday for interview invitations. That leaves everyone else left for the second string round of calls 24 spots.

IU. My anatomy finals are this week, I'm working overtime and I don't like my PS, so I haven't submitted the application. Might be time to just throw caution to the wind and throw it in like it is! I have transfer credit from every community college under the sun, so sending transcripts is always a fun adventure.

Is anyone else having a heck of a time trying to get ahold of Indiana? I really wanted to apply there, but I've been calling them for the last week to see if i can submit just unofficial transcripts (they have that Dec. 15th deadline) since my official won't make it in time at this point, and no one will answer, or it transfers to the main line and no one seems to know who I should talk to. I left a voicemail with the director, but haven't heard anything.

You make me wonder if I should retake Biochem as well. I enjoyed the class, but I was a moron at the time so I got a C.

People who are applying a second time: are you mentioning it in your personal statement? I'm torn. The hardest part of this is going to be the personal statement.

I hoped that's what it meant! Honestly, that makes me want to cast an even broader net. I might not seriously have considered alabama before, but if I rank just their vanderbilt track--yes, I would live happily in the south for a year to spend a year in Nashville.

I'm working my match registration stuff right now, and I have questions! Under participating programs: https://natmatch.com/gcadmissions/directory/participating-programs.html, it lists different tracks, and it's got places that look like they're not even in the same geographic area as the school offering the track (ie--UAMS has a track that says "Louisville, KY"). What does that mean?!!?!
