  1. I mean, if you don't want it...I'll take it but congrats! Interviews are exciting!
  2. Were they part of this forum? Or an additional person who got interviewed? I know they send in waves, and timeline wise this seems like it would be around the final wave.
  3. That is a little different. When did they give you, if you don't mind my asking? End of this month? Or March? I just got back to my computer and it looks like you are #2 to get the call today. So they must be making them today. I wish I had your problem of applying to too many!
  4. Alright, someone in results heard from Ohio State today apparently. My panic attack continues.
  5. No, but I'm busy stressing about it as well. It looks like there's two in the results who have heard from them, though.
  6. YES. Also, I don't know if their program requires a thesis or not. I looked and I can't really tell. It talks about a capstone, and shows enrollment for that for 1 unit each term, but I'm not sure if it's the same thing? I would love to not write a thesis And I understand completely about the LOR recommenders. I'm being a delinquent and keep forgetting to give them the thank you gift i made them, so until i do that I don't feel i have any business pestering them after all they've done for me!
  7. Thank you slaybackc! It can't hurt to tune in and learn more! The format of Baypath is kind of fascinating to me. Does anyone know if their in person classes are every weekend? Or only select weekends out of the month? I'd almost be interested, and i like the fact they let you transfer in up to 6 units of grad coursework, but from looking at a map I don't think there's a major airport too close, so I'm not sure how that would work. Also like that the application fee is free. But I don't want to go bother my recommenders again and be all, "HEY CAN YOU DO ANOTHER ONE OF THESE FOR ME?"
  8. Don't feel bad. It's a serving job, you're not under 2 year contract with a government office. Frankly, I think it would be more shocking if you lied to them and told them you were "sick" all these days, and then suddenly were like "surprise! i leave for grad school in a couple weeks!" It is okay to start a new job with pre-existing plans When I started the job I'm at, I had previously made plans to go see my best friend for a long weekend about a month after I started. I wasn't going to scrap a trip I'd planned for six months and a plane ticket i'd paid for, just because of a job I'd been at a few weeks. I just told my boss I'd had those plans before I was hired, and it worked out just fine. Remember: These serving jobs are temporary. Grad school will lead to a career for the rest of your life
  9. Does anyone have an opinion on if it's a bad idea to call schools and ask them when they'll be sending the next batch? I haven't heard anything from Cincinnati or Ohio State, and I know from the results tab Cincinnati has sent at least 2-3. Ohio State said prospective applicants would be notified by the end of January. January is...now over. But also in the results tab, it looks like only one person has mentioned Ohio state contacting them yet? I heard in December that those of us who turned our stuff in before the fellowship deadline would hear soonest, but I haven't. I'm a little paranoid to contact either of them for fear it will reflect negatively on me. My days at work this week consist of keeping this tab in my browser perpetually during the day, and trying to pass time at night. I feel like I'm in a holding pattern.
  10. Same. I will not be breathing into a paper bag in the corner until this date. At least for Utah.
  11. I'm going to play devil's advocate here: You should definitely go then. I can't imagine an ORD to the New York area flight could be uncommon. If you already know in your heart you don't want it that's one thing, but if it's more the unknown...go see! New York is incredible and I can't think of a better reason to go spend the day in the city! There will always be more PTO in the future, but there might not be more interviews. Just my 2 cents.
  12. @Slaybackc I speculate it's this list: https://agcpd.org/ProgramDirectory.aspx under 'associate members'. Also question for you: you mentioned something awhile back about not being able to shadow because of state regulations in your state. We're in the same state. Are you saying Arizona doesn't allow it? I haven't had a chance to run into those roadblocks much and find out for myself, since the GCs i met with were in another state, and since i've moved back to AZ I've worked full time and lived hours away from where any GCs are.
  13. Hi Everyone! I've also been lurking so I figured it was time to sign up so I can wait it out with you guys! My background: BS in Biology and BS in Psychology with a minor in anthropology, world's worst undergrad GPA. Finishing up a master's degree in May with a 3.88 GPA that I hope will help pry the door back open that I sealed for myself as an undergrad. GRE scores with a very high verbal/very low quantitative. I took the GRE twice last fall a month apart, and my quant came up after a month of intense study and tutoring, but not enough by the deadline I needed to turn applications in by. I work full time with undergraduate students as an academic advisor. Volunteer crisis responder/victim advocate with a local agency that provides support to survivors of crimes and trauma. I've talked to several GC's and interviewed a couple but have never got to shadow a GC, because there are none in the town I live in (this worries me it will make my apps weaker than other applicants with similar backgrounds). @slaybackc I was also at career camp day at Utah in May so we've definitely met! And someone else I think said they were at DNA day at Cincinnati, I don't remember who but i was there. Applied to: Cincinnati, Ohio State and Utah. So far I've heard nothing and I'm getting really nervous and scared.
