  1. I would say it is fairly accurate. So far the interview dates listed for the schools I have been invited to interview at are correct. From what I can remember from last year when I applied, the timelines were accurate. The downside is not every clinical psychology doctoral program is listed on that.
  2. Are you talking about this calendar https://teamup.com/ks952632ef38687f3e when you say their "timeline?"
  3. There is a chance you will just never hear anything (I have experienced this before) but many programs will send some sort of rejection via email or mail at some point after they have interviewed applicants, extended offers, and finalized their incoming class. So, that could mean rejections are likely to not be sent until after the April 15th decision date, or the Monday after the 15th if the 15th falls on a weekend. A clinical psych interviewee offered admission at any point usually has through April 15th to accept or reject the offer, this date is set by APA and CUDCP. An applicant who did not interview may also eventually just get an email that says to check your status in the application system, this will usually mean rejection. I applied to a program before and heard absolutely nothing from them, I was not invited to interview, and then out of the blue in June, I received a rejection in the mail. Now, applicants that do interview tend to get their status within a few weeks of the interview (alternate, rejected etc.). It is fairly typical for invitations to go out through late January as some programs will not interview until March (i.e., Washington State University's interview date is March 1 this year) so don't lose faith yet, there is still quite a bit of time! In the past, the latest I have received an invitation to interview is the first full week of February and I have a few friends currently in programs that have said the same. I would say if you don't hear anything by February 8th this year, that means you are no longer being considered for the program. I hope this was helpful!
  4. I agree with @Psyhopeful, I would not do this. If you applied for clinical programs, it is still pretty early. Next week will be a very popular week for programs to reach out to applicants. And a lot of interviews take place mid-February so some programs may not even begin to contact applicants until after next week. It is unlikely that your application was missed as admissions committees tend to be well-oiled machines. I think emailing anyone involved in the admissions process, especially a POI, would not make you look very good. Even if you applied to a non-clinical psychology PhD program, I would say it is still pretty early and to just try to be patient. If it is a program that you know has already sent out interview invites then just keep in mind that it is not unheard of for programs to send rejections weeks or even months later... Many programs won't send rejections, even to people they did not invite to interview, until after their interview day(s) in case they need to dip back into the applicant pool for some reason. Last year I received a rejection by mail from a program I did not interview with in JUNE! Again, just be patient and remember many of us are experiencing the same thing as you so we all understand it is very hard to be patient, but you will get through it!
  5. Historically, the first full week after the new year has been one of the most popular weeks for clinical psych programs to begin reaching out to applicants. That is next week, January 7-11, so don't lose faith yet! ?
  6. I was not the person who posted that but I spoke to someone last week who was invited to interview at Temple and they were invited via an email from the DCT.
  7. I had a preliminary phone interview for a Clinical Psych PhD program last week. I was asked the following questions: What type of research are you hoping to do? What are your long term career goals? What clinical experiences are you looking for? What type of environment or resources do you need to be successful in a doctorate program? What type of mentorship style do you think works best for you?
  8. I think it would be okay to ask the second school if there is an alternate day you can come to campus to interview even though you already committed. I wouldn't ask for a Skype interview but for an alternate in-person interview day. I have a friend who had a similar thing last year and that is what she did. Maybe just explain that something came up unexpectedly and you are wanting to know if there is an alternate option (perhaps the day after their scheduled interview day). If they say no, then I think you should try to go to both interviews. Clinical psych PhD programs are SO competitive so it may not be wise to completely give up an interview spot. If these are for a program other than clinical psych, then I am not really sure what the best option is and I would suggest going with your gut!
  9. So, neither school has an alternate interview day?
  10. This isn't my first application cycle for Clinical Psych PhD programs and I have never been reimbursed for travel expenses. I have two interviews coming up and neither are reimbursing for travel expenses. I guess this isn't something the programs I apply to do!
  11. I'm waiting until after Christmas but only because I am preparing to go back to my hometown. I'll start booking next weekend.

  15. School: Marquette University Type: Clinical Psychology PhD Date Of Invite: 12/19/18 Type of Invite: Email from DCT with my PI CCed on it Interview date: 1/28/19 OR 2/1/19 OR 2/4/19 - I can choose which date I want to attend I am SO excited as this is one of my top choices!
  16. Don't count yourself out yet, ResilientDreams. Remain resilient! Having a quant score in the 50th percentile range is definitely not the worst and may be good enough to get you where you want to be. As everyone is saying, there are so many factors at play so don't count yourself out yet! If your scores are similar to those of the previously admitted students in a given program, even if yours is a point or two lower, you should really not count yourself out yet! Try to remain positive. :] and happy belated birthday.
  17. You're welcome! I'm hoping to have better luck this year. I have been invited for one interview so far so that's good news. Good luck! Remember, it is very common for people to go through more than one application cycle before getting into a clinical psych PhD program!
  18. It is very mixed indeed. I am clinical psych with concentrations in neuropsych/clinical neuroscience topics and those types of programs definitely seem to put weight on the quant score, and the GRE as a whole, more than others. And I also applied to a program that doesn't require the GRE at all anymore because they have found it to disadvantage a wide variety of people. It's a shame more programs don't see that it certainly does put many people at a disadvantage!
  19. Social psych is a very different world than clinical psych, unfortunately.
