Turns out, I'm still eliglble. I've submitted a completed app a few days ago! Fingers crossed now until February. If I don't get it, I'll just rush to complete my dissertation and that's okay.

I would recommend doing both if you want to become an academic that has in impact in the public sphere. That's what I do. But academia will always value peer-reviewed journal articles more. Just my two cents. I think it's worth it, because it can help your work gain a lot of visibility. I've gotten academic publication opportunities through my non-academic publications

It's an iterative process, so you might need to do multiple rounds of coding to see emerging themes!

Oh wow. I'm sorry you had such a negative experience.

Well, it seems like I'm not eligible because I'm a third-year PhD Candidate. It appears that this criteria has changed, it says only accepted, first or second year PhD students

What's your advice for a professor teaching online?
Adelaide9216 replied to RyanS's topic in The Lobby
Don't make your lectures more than 2 hours. I've taught online this year, and I'd never go over two hours. i'd also alternate between live sessions and sessions that were recorded. I had many guest speakers. -

No I have not. I have read other people's experiences on this forum though. They do look scary!

I feel like the Trudeau application requires less written work than the Vanier. But the Trudeau process seems to be longer because there are multiple interviews to it!

Hello, Who's applying this year ? It's my last shot at this.

Hello, what's the expectation for number of publications for social workers doctoral candidates?
-
Hello, is it me or the Trudeau's selection process is very opaque ?
