Hi, I am also looking for the apartment around CMU, and I will moving to Pittsburgh next semester. I found some apartment which has amazing facilities and the price is very attractive. The address is Peebles street and Kelly ave (I believe it is Wilkinsburg). It is next to the east side of Frick park. The map with a star label is the rough location of that apartment. The concerns are: 1. it will be quite far away from the campus (around 20 minutes transit time searched by google map) 2. Will this area safe or not? This is my priority concern. I do not care much about the restaurant or the entertainment nearby. I would prefer somewhere quiet. Could anyone give me some advice? Especially towards my second concern. Thanks in advance.

Why don't you apply for the robotics program at Umich if you would like to go for robotics after graduation? By the way, I am pretty sure that Stanford has a higher rank in EE, but not sure about the ranking in terms of robotics.

I am incredibly excited to have been offered admission at CMU and Univerisity of Michigan for both MS in Robotics. My education background is BS in ME at Umich. I am an international student holding an F1 visa. I have many research experience in control. In my graduate school, I would like to incline my research interest towards control by using machine learning/ artificial intelligence. This means I would like to have some transition from ME towards CS, and this is also one of the reasons why I applied for the Robotics program. After graduation, I don't know yet whether I want to continue for Ph.D. but I do know that I don't want a programming job. Some of my considerations (I do not care about the cost or funding issues): Ranking (in terms of robotics, especially in the field of control or AI) Location: Pittsburgh vs Ann Arbor - Which one has more job/internship opportunities? Especially for a foreign student. Research opportunity Quality of graduate school I would like to thank you for any comments.
