I will likely be declining a funded offer from Indiana-Bloomington, as I am leaning strongly toward UW-Madison. I hope someone from here gets my spot! -

I was told not every field has done interviews, although they are recommended by the Dean... When I asked, they were unable to tell me whether my field is doing interviews or not... So I'm not giving up yet on Columbia! -

OKAY it's not ~embarrassing~ exactly it's just the exact opposite of what I told myself I would not do because it's annoying etc. I emailed the DGS for each program and these were the results. (Except for NYU I called rather than emailing). -

Okay, so don't ask me how I know this b/c I am too embarrassed to talk about it BUT I have some deets for a few programs. I hope this helps calm some nerves or at least direct the anxiety towards specific days as opposed to a large and formless cloud of nerves. Cornell: By end of this week Princeton: (Tentatively) by end of this week Columbia: Not until the 24th of Febraury NYU: starting next Tuesday -

@LouisePlease can I ask why you're listing Columbia as an implied rejection? I haven't seen any news about them on the board. -

My anxiety level is through the roof!!! I don't deal well with uncertainty at all, and so now that I have gotten into UW-Madison, I really want to know if I am going to be moving to Wisconsin or not. -

I think it's likely things are going out in waves! I was notified via phone call on a Saturday and had the impression that not everyone was being told at the same time. Best of luck to you both!! -

I haven't decided about the recruitment day for Indiana. I haven't received any details about it yet other than the date, so hopefully I'll be able to decide once they send out more info. I am also leaning more towards Madison at this point. Although be honest I'm a bit scared of the weather -

I've been accepted to Indiana-Bloomington and rejected from UCLA. Waiting on everyone else! What is your area of interest? I'm interested in African and African Diaspora Lit. -
Anyone on here going to the Welcome Days? I booked my flight last week and will be bringing my partner.

My guess is that undergrad admissions are managed centrally by the Admissions office whereas grad goes to individual departments/committees! -

I don't know if this makes it better or worse but when I spoke to the grad adviser at UCLA he said that not all acceptances go out on the same day.... So UCLA may still be on the table! -

So...in my state of restlessness I was looking over my application materials and realized I put the wrong school name in my SoP for UCLA!!!!!!! I am dead........ Has this ever happened to anyone here before? Do you think they trashed my application? (I feel like I would have if I were on an adcomm) -

So I caved and called UCLA. I was told admissions decisions have not been sent out yet but will be starting tomorrow and through the end of next week! In case anyone's in the same boat as me. So IDK if the acceptance posted was just an early notification or someone mistyped... -
