    Canada MSW 2019

Thanks for starting this thread! It has been on my mind too!

    Canadian MSW Applicants 2018

I was accepted into Renison's BSW program but regretted not applying to 2 year MSW for 2018. I did not know about this option! I have some thinking to do!

Thanks! My work experience is limited in the social work field; however, I was a p/t high school teacher for 5 years. My volunteer experience includes about 400 hours as a summer camp counselor. Compared with others, I don't think my experience is that significant. I was put on the waitlist last year for U of T's 2-year MSW so this is my plan B I have been taking the prereqs online through Renison this past year and have had a really great experience. This fall I hope to apply for 1 year MSW programs.

Thanks In order to be admitted into the program, you need a bachelor's degree (can be any field - mine is business) plus 10 prerequisites (found on Renison's website). From my understanding, courses for the BSW program are on-campus on Thursdays and Fridays and you are in a placement M-W. The program is 3 consecutive terms from Sept - June.

Today, I was admitted into the Post-degree BSW program at Waterloo! Quest was updated but I haven't received an email yet. So excited!!

I was waitlisted last year for the 2 year MSW at U of T so I remember how stressful and all-consuming this time of waiting is. I wish you all the best and hope you all get into the program you want! I am currently finishing prerequisites at Waterloo and have applied to their post-degree BSW program. I am wishing I reapplied for the 2 year MSW programs this year but I am hoping to do the advanced standing MSW right after the BSW. I am starting to get nervous that I won't get into the BSW program. Maybe I will end up doing the intensive SSW program which I hear is also very good. I am a mature student (46) so I would like to go through this process as quickly as possible!!
  7. I am also waiting for the 2 year msw at u of t!
