  1. LACD: wants to see sketches as well as finished work PAFA: Don't look to accomplished or they assume you will not be open to experimentation. Tyler: Wants to know the deep meaning of your work, would like to see more of my 3D work even if I apply for MFA in painting South Dakota: 3 year program, paid for RIT: You apply ones and can cross of more than one MFA discipline and they will accept you in program they feel you fit best. All of them told me that even if you are applying for one discipline you are welcome to explore other diciplines ones you are accepted in their program. Realization which mistakes I made applying last year: Looking to accomplished with no room to grow. Not showing work outside the painting MFA such as my 3D sculpture works. Resume feedback, remove experiences which have nothing to do with art and keep it to one page.

    MFA in Germany

Language is not an issue for me since I speak German. Since my family lives in the USA the MFA is important. The University I choose needs to be accredited here in the USA. A simple search should bring up German Universities which offer an MFA in fine art, that is not the case. Not sure if I am going about it the wrong way.
  4. Give it a shot, worth what can happen you don't get in. If you are ready for an MFA apply.
  5. I am looking into 2018 MFA programs here in the US and Europe. I keep reading that Germany does not have the same art programs as the US. Is anyone aware of a German MFA in painting or inter discipline studio studies? I have a dual citizen ship which would allow me to study here in the US or in Europe. Thanks Iris

    MFA in Germany

Thanks, I am looking for an MFA in order to take advantage of teaching opportunities at local Universities.
  7. Background education: Associate in photography BFA in studio art, specialized in painting, took metal smithing and ceramics as well. Worked as a professional photographer for 20 years before returning to Rowan University to get my BFA. How would a MFA benefit me? Intense focus on my work Access gallery and professional networking Teaching opportunities at Universities I applied to for fall 2017: Yale, MICA,Rutgers, Tyler, Delaware, U Penn, and PAFA 3 of them offered me a Post-baccalaureate, I worked with local artists and on my art over the last year instead. The Post-baccalaureate tuition equals one year in an MFA program but is not credited towards an MFA nor will it guaranty to get into an MFA program. MFA Painting, studio practice , my work is representational paintings oil on canvas and I am researching programs which compliments my interests. Fall 2018 MFA Programs I consider so far Rutgers University of Delaware PAFA
  8. RIT is well known for its photography program. https://www.rit.edu/programs/imaging-arts-mfa
  9. I was told by my professors that photography it told in most every University and school and therefore the outlook for work is better. I am photographer and painter myself but have only applied for Painting MFA's. I was under the believe that photography lost respect and it would be a waste of money. But my professors do not see it that way.
  10. I was under the understanding most only allow for fall applications.
